Officiating at KY

he rides the refs believe me, he just does it in a much more subtle way than what we were used to with our previoius coach. CCM is a guy who will get his point across, and demand respect without yelling. that's is just the way he is.

You are probably right.

But, sometimes a technical changes the way the game is called. And it definitely motivates the players knowing the coach is tired of the one-sided calls.

this is true. unfortunately we had a T slapped on golden and it did nothing except make the calls worse, and our play worse. i know what you are saying though, lots of coaches do that to jump start their teams, as far as this game was concerned i dont think jumper cables would have gotten us going.

it was a horribly officiated game, but anyone who thinks we'd have won if it was officiated more evenly is not being realistic.

I don't believe we we would have had a chance to win, but why did Cal and his bunch of punks resort to cheating and manipulating the refs?

Did anyone see the picture of Davis with his hands around Skylar McBee's neck when the scuffle broke out? CCM was asked about it today and took his usual politcally correct stance saying it was a physical game and his team needs to learn how to play physical. I'll say one thing about CCM, he does not make excuses and wants no pity for him or his team. I really like this guy.

Another thing, it was noted this week that KY is the ONLY SEC team that does not play a THursday night game and then turn around and play again Sat. It was also noted that KY has 4 Sat. games against teams that have to play on THursday night (one of them was against Tenn.). SEC bias?? I think so.....

this was addressed a long time ago, right around the time we played them at TBA. like it or not here's the reason...the thursday night espn game was put in place for SEC teams, and to give them more TV coverage. In case you didnt know UK gets picked up all the time by espn or any of their stations, so UK can play on tuesdays and get picked up by ESPN, but if say auburn were to play on tuesday they wouldnt get picked up by ESPN. it's all about money, it always is and its not different in this case, the sec makes more money and so do everyone of the schools by being on tv.

Big time programs get calls when they play at home, hopefully as a college sports fan this isn’t a new concept. UK started the game 11/11 so if you want to complain about something you should start with your putrid road play - especially on D

UK shot 80% for a long time in the first half. UT shot around 25-30%. UK's lead during that time was equal to the number of FT's they made.

Then I would suggest being more disciplined on D and learning how to guard without fouling.

Also learning how to flop when a rail thin Kenny Hall puts an forearm on you. How to take a flying karate kick to the chest. A redefining of everything from elbow to wrist as being "part of the ball" wouldn't hurt either. Learning to push on defender into another on a 1 on 2 fast break is an advanced lesson. And if a player from the Big Grey pushes you from out of nowhere, your supposed to just take that, because Calipari is just getting his guys to play tough.

Any other gym on Earth and Kidd-Gilcrest gets T'd up for running his mouth like he did at half court, right after the little dust-up, I might add. Kentucky gets calls in Rupp that's just how it is. Everyone gets calls at home (albeit not to the degree of what goes on in Lexington) What is sad is when Kentucky fans somehow manage to define it as shortcoming of the other team.

You are right, UK does get calls at home. That is a point I've made on this forum ad nauseam...I just get tired of people still complaining like it's news (which is why I posted what I did earlier). I'm sorry we get calls at home and honestly if I could change it I would because I like good basketball. That being said it wasn't the reason you lost so put it number 1 on a list of 10 things that cost you the game.

By the way, Vandy could give UK a run for their money in terms of getting calls at home...

Yeah, I've heard this bull **** ad nauseum. I watched the game as many others did. Officiating was probably the worst I've seen. And, yes, poor officiating ruins any game regardless of who is playing. Would be nice if the AA cared, but it appears they don't. I'll be glad when they get busted up and no longer a part of college sports. Couldn't be worse.

You are right about Vandy.

Hopefully moving to bigger conferences will facilitate that...I hate the NCAA

and by the way, it wasn't as bad as the blown goal tending that did cost WVU the game AT Syracuse...big time programs get calls at home it sucks as a rule but like lots of things that suck there isn't much I can do about it on my own.

The part that really rubs people wrong is that cal comes out the day before and expresses how the game should be called. It's not like we don't know by now UK will get call, but for cal to come out and do that and then when play got physical all fouls to go against UT that just doesn't sit well.

UK was without a doubt equally if not more aggressive on defense then we were but weren't called for it. I understand y'all are gonna get the calls, but now you wanna deny that the calls went your way? The fact in the first 5 minutes out best 3 players were on the bench with 2 fouls gave us 0 chance. Take out gilchrist, jones and Davis for 15 minutes with bad foul calls and tell me UK fans aren't whining. I hope you realize the NCAA tournament won't be at rupp, could be a rude awakening for some of your boys not getting every whistle.

I understand they get calls at home, but UT football gets calls at home (often at UK's expense) so it's cyclical like lots of things.

Get out of here, really? When uk jumps off sides or is holding receivers that's not really a judgment call, the ref has to make that call. You can't not compare the 2 sports, seriously?
