The SEC has a very long history of "poor officiating". It has been prevalent for so many years. Once something keeps going on unchecked for so long, it seems to me that the people who say "there is no bias" are the crazy ones. Even former NFL head referee Mike Pereira has called them out for a "lack of integrity." These were just a few of many results of a google search:

Since the SEC refuses to disclose the results of their weekly scoring of each crew, maybe it is time for a fan based review site. Include fans from each school to even out the bias and publicly post a numeric score for each squad. Time to shine some light on the whole rotten enterprise

They talk about missing our guy throwing a punch…..go watch when Al scored their first TD. Watch Burton kick 0 with both feet while the ref was standing 5 feet looking right at him. Some of y’all computer guys need to plaster this all over Facebook like they did of 44 trying to punch the ball out.

Our people seem to favor this one from Bama’s long TD right after halftime:

There was an SEC crew several years ago that worked a game between Arkansas and Florida in the Swamp. Practically every penalty went against Arkansas and the obvious no-calls all seemed to benefit the Gators, and there was a big stink about it. Could that be the game you're thinking about? I think it also could have been during the Tim Tebow/Urban Meyer era in Gainesville.
I remember watching that game and it was awful.

Someone said it best on here a while ago: even if you aren't a fan of Alabama, if you work for the SEC you live in Birmingham. You go to the store and see Bama fans. Your friends and network are Bama fans. Your fellow church members, soccer parents, the guy that mows your yard. You're naturally inclined to make decisions a certain way because you are surrounded by one crew.

The SEC offices need to GTFO out Birmingham. Ideally, they'd be somewhere like Charlotte or Richmond or DC in the interest of extreme neutrality.
I bet those Birmingham instant replay 3 officials that monitor and review film as game goes on, are stalked every day they go to lunch. They probably hear Roll Tide a thousand times a week. I wonder if one of them reviewed the film and said I saw a frontline guy point and his index finger was above his shoulder. I would think it came from there because they were getting ready to spot the ball at the 23 then they got on the phone. I read an article today I believe it was in AtoZ where they said that may have been by the letter of law penalty but it would be like giving a ticket for going 46 in a 45 MPH zone. Everyone knows he wasn't signaling for a fair catch this is just way to out there and really looks like what it is.

Called a personal foul on Arkansas to extend what was ultimately the game winning drive for UF and there was absolutely nothing there, literally nothing. It was completely fabricated but set up a 1 vs 2, undefeated vs undefeated Bama vs UF in ATL.

It's one of those very subjective calls that referees can keep in their hip pocket for when they feel like they need to use it.

IMO the SEC is in panic mode that they will miss the final 4 playoffs, the games that Sankey and Co. control the mandate there will be no losses to UGA & Alabama until one loser in the SECC a lot of money on the line. refs tow the line yes you will get bonuses for finding obscure rules and skipping over the ticky tack on the usual suspects always following the narrative. (LSU 2 loss teams)would have to score on every possession and they might be holding flag on some it can be called and rationalized even if it was ticky tack. So after the SECC I expect a undefeated UGA barely making playoff because of schedule strength or a 1 loss Alabama beating UGA making it in due to a better schedule and/if there are not 4 undefeated team which I don't believe there will be.
And you are right we are leading the league in penalties.
What happens if Bama faces GA in the SEC Title game and they both have 1 loss? The loser would have 2 losses and likely get eliminated from the playoff. Who do the refs pull for in this scenario? Perhaps this is the only scenario where the refs would call a fair game.

We see a heck of a lot of stats and grades for players and teams, it would seem logical that similar stats/grades by the SEC Officiating Crews should be provided. Some transparency by the head of Officiating is needed to understand what is really going on. After all the coaches can't say anything... (pause) "next question." Go Vols!
One day maybe they will replace the refs with AI. That’s one profession I would be happy to see go.

I no longer have any desire to watch another biased officiated game of the SEC. If allowed to continue there will be many others that feel the same way as the sport that all of us love is being ruined by blatant corruption. It's up to the fans and the college administrations to put a stop to it once and for all and it can be done by hurting them where it hurts the worst........in the pocketbook. If just half of the SEC teams were to announce on Friday night they would take a forfeit for the next day's games the TV guys would be furious with Sankey for letting it come to this as both the networks and the SEC would lose a ton of revenue. All teams in the SEC except Bama and Ga have been the victims of this ongoing corruption and bringing this to the forefront of all sports media by taking a stand complete with video proof would be the only way to stop the corruption. This would certainly be a very brash move but the backlash of this would bring the SEC office to it's knees and they would have no other recourse but to restore the sanctity of the game.

Some friends and I were discussing the possibility of under the radar betting by officials in games by "helping" or "hurting" teams. It seems everyone focuses on players or coaches betting. If you look back several years it seems games other than Tennessee have been getting some head scratching calls.
They might want to look up Tim Donaghy. FBI takes that crap seriously.

The call from SEC office would be for a 1 loss Bama over UGA because UGA has one of the easiest P5 schedule and probably wont get in with one loss. They would need a lot of good teams to lose 2. So Bama would be the SEC flag carrier to keep the dominance streak going. SEC Pride from Sankey if we ever get on top again we will start getting the directive calls it is what it is.

I agree. Grade officials, use a common standard, make the results public. Each year the bottom 2 are put on notice to improve and are terminated if they are in that bottom 2 year over year.
