Officiating (merged)

And by the way, blue is my favorite color. I love orange, but in general, OUTSIDE of the sports world, I prefer blue. In actuality, I chose jtylerblue a long time ago. ... I used to play a game called VMK. I made my username jtyler-blue, Since blue was my favorite color. I've used it ever since. Your horrible assumption is... bleh

Bash me all you want. But follow the money. No way the SEC was gonna allow all those kitty fans to go home early, that would be what, 1/4th of the revenue. Let's say UK fans would only rent 20,000 hotel rooms- avg 100 a pop, that's 2.0 mil right there, throw in food, beverages, and misc rev and UK losing would have cost 2.5 mil. Not happenin. Now, am I dumb enough to think they can FOR SURE fix a game? NO, But they can damn sure influence it. Today, their influence took all we had out of us.

I'm not bashing ya.
Some will say I need to go put my tinfoil hat on. And some probably said that after getting back-doored on a Tim Donahee (sp) game. Turned out they were right. I know we played poorly, and were overmatched to begin with, but every time wed get it to 6 or 7 and they didn't hit a shot, they'd get a call. Lord knows we would have had a tough enough time getting stops and scoring on our own.
Then the times that should have been "toss-ups" became Auto calls for them. I'm telling you, it was painfully obvious to me who the SEC wanted to play sunday.

Maybe I will save this picture of this baby crying Bearcat threw up for the football season....after we add yet another notch to our Kentucky Domination Belt that we wear in Knoxville year after year after year after year after year after year after year after year.............................................................................................................................................................................................................after year after year after year :finger3: !

The number of posters who think that the refs were horrible way out number those that felt the refs called the game fairly. So obviously there must be something to it. Yes we probably would have lost, but not by 30. It was a 6 point game late in the 2nd half.

The fact of the matter is the SEC would prefer for KY to win the SEC tournament. It's good for the conference to have a #1 seed and the city of Nashville benefits from the KY fan base staying in town an extra night. Do you think anyone would tune into to ABC outside of SEC territory to watch Tennessee and Miss State in the championship? No, they wouldn't. We saw the same crap in football with Alabama and Florida.

Goodness gracious--if any oither team's fans whined like this, we'd be calling them the biggest babies in the world. The refs didn't lose the game. Grow a pair guys and move on

My wife is a UK grad and fan. She said after watching yesterday's game that Tennessee is a "nasty team that plays dirty". Just to give you the perspective through blue colored glasses.

Those would be female colored glasses not worth much...I say divorce is your only option.

We have a merged officiating thread...that in itself says it all. I say next UK vs. Tenn game in bball we raid the court crying freedom....:devilsmoke:

Anyone who thinks that the officiating was "fair" is delusional. Anyone who thinks it alone cost us the game is equally crazy. Officiating has always gone for UK and always will.

the officiating was bad but this is a bit overboard. we lost by 30. officiating didnt do that, us going 17-55 did that.

I dont think anyone thinks it was exactly evenly called, but it wasnt the main reason that we got our teeth kicked in yesterday. I didnt like the officiating either, but I am more concerned that we couldnt hit a shot to save our life and missing wide open layups is unacceptable.

all i watched of the MSU UK game was the OT. i saw a travel by wall and two obvious fouls (1 on orton and the other on cousins i think) against vernardo that went uncalled. despite that, a friend told me it was pretty evenly called.

Mississippi State's gettin the same deal today. This is pathetic.

I wish that slive would do something about the one sided
officiating. Pearl should have taken the team off the court at halftime and informed slive that no team can compete in that invironment. I looked for cousins to pull a knife. wall charges almost every time he goes to the middle. you have to go back to the stanford game the lat time kentucky won a national championship to find a more one sided called game. Hamilton should tell slive that tennessee is pulling out of the sec
