Oh, good grief

I was for them hiring Dawn Staley or the Louisville coach.

I think we have waited long enough that the Louisville coach won't be an option. It would be a lateral move for him because our program regularly finishes about the same or worse than his does.

Staley doesn't seem like a good fit. Tyler hasn't proven anything and Caldwell hasn't been the same coach since she had her kid. Mitchell is a prick who teaches his kids to play dirty.

There just isn't a whole lot to choose from. There is certainly no coach who is a sure thing who you could lure here.

We should have gone after the Louisville coach or Caldwell right from the jump.

I think Staley would've taken the job at the time Pat retired, but it's too late now. She's building the new Tennessee at South Carolina.

Holly is an average coach that is fortunate to have top ranked players coverup her deficiencies on most nights. I'm afraid that she will continue to do enough each year to keep the head coach title.

I agree with you but at the same time they could have offered the job to Wes Moore, who built UTC into where they are now, who beat Holly with a lot less talent, and who in his first year at NC State accomplished this:

*25-8 record
*Top 25 RPI
*Fourth place ACC finish despite preseason prediction of 10th
*11 straight weeks in the AP and USA Today polls
*First AP top-10 ranking since 2001
*Four wins over AP top-20 teams
*10 wins over top-100 RPI teams
*13-2 nonconference record
*14-2 record at home

He would have probably walked up to Knoxville for just a crack at an interview.

I think ya'll better be careful for what you wish for and be mindful of who exactly will be 'pulling the trigger".

That's just it. Hart will be fine if we win all of our games or if we lose all of our games. There just isn't enough money in it to interest him either way.

When it was time to hire a coach I suggested on TOS, when it was free, that we should interview the Louisville coach. I was literally torched and told this was a women's program and that there should never be a male coach in charge of the Lady Vols. It was stated that when the Men's program hired a woman then the Lady Vols could hire a man. The die hard LV backers would have shot the AD if somebody other than Holly been interviewed much less hired. Truth is we have been in a slowly descending trajectory for the past 7 years. It is no longer a surprise when this type game happens and even the final four appears to be a pipe dream much less a national championship.

What about Wes Moore or the mtsu coach. I'm really high on Wes Moore. He did really good things while he was at UTC..

Wes Moore can coach circles around Holly. He can determine which players need to play and which ones need to be riding the bench. He has never had the talent Holly has but he wins at the same level. Were never going to win another title with Holly as coach even when we get Diamond, Tea, and Mercedes all on the same team she will find some way to lost to inferior teams.

Now this is one nice little temper tantrum thread. To hell with "Rocky Top." The new fight song should be "Fire the Coach."

What a bunch of useless, entitled whiners. You dumbasses are doing a bang-up job of making UT the laughingstock of the SEC.

You are right about Walz. His Cardinals have made it to the National Championship game twice in the last five or so years so he isn't available.

we lost to utc with our squad...smh I mean we don't have one coach on our bench to motivate five players.

i am going to throw this out there, please do not throw rocks at me, but how about Kara Lawson? She has seen the game from the floor and behind the analyst desk. She makes a lot of great observations.
