Our folks are going to mismanage our QB search from the get-go, and they're going to make us the laughing stock of the college football world. We should NOT be trying to steal a starting QB from another program!!! We MUST take a QB who's in the portal!! If we try to steal someone who isn't in the portal, then suddenly we're going to look as bad as Nico. We'll forfeit any right to blame Nico for any of this, and we'll look really bad. We'll just have to accept that we got shafted by Iamaleava, and we may have a down year next year as we try to make do with a 3-star for a season. But that's what we'll have to do! Accept it!

I think we end up with someone who did not win a starting job, but was in a competitive situation during spring. Osu, Michigan, and several other schools are in the middle of qb competitions.

That said, if someone who is starting at a big 10 or big 12 school and wants the opportunity to play for a contender, why do you or anyone else have a problem with it?

Who cares.. Until the NCAA does something about all this garbage it's the wild wild west. I say the odds of Tennessee getting someone's starter here that could be plug and play is low. There is no doubt about it , Tennessee is in a bad spot here. Figures.. This soap opera the last 20 plus years has been full of shat sandwiches and this is another.

I do agree that we seem to always be the headliner (MOSTLY negative) since about 2008 or so.

1. Kiffin debacle
2. Pruitt McDs bags (probation, schollys)
3. NCAA lawsuit
4. Nico carousel

And I'm just naming CFB wide news stories. Everyone else maybe has 1 major story, most = none. Some type of Fulmer bad ju-ju. We need the little poltergeist đź‘» lady to exercise the demons.

I don’t have a problem with trying to lure someone here, even if we strike out, but let me ask you this. Does having football credentials mean one is immune to mistakes, and does not having them mean one is incapable of identifying mistakes? Do you agree with everything Jeremy Pruitt or Butch Jones ever did? I know you did at the time, but in hindsight, do you?

I'd say it's close to "TCU QB uses Tennessee vacancy for raise from TCU, without ever actually hearing from Vols."

TCU has one QB on an NFL roster, Andy Dalton. The two starters that are NFL eligible during Heupel's time here are both on NFL rosters.

Max Duggan, the only other TCU QB drafted in the last 53 years (yes, TCU has as many QBs drafted in the last 53 years as we have in the last 3 years) plays for the St Louis Battlehawks after not making the Rams roster.

A quarterback from TCU would be foolish to turn down coming here from TCU for less money, let alone more money.

Happens all the time, it doesn't matter how it looks, we need a QB!

The NCAA can't do anything about it. That ship sailed long ago. Their insistence on maintaining their old, illegal model lost every court case about NIL, the portal, and eligibility. It's up to the courts and/or Congress now.

Funny that what Pruitt did will be withing the rules as of July 1 if the House settlement goes through.

The NCAA lawsuit got UT lots of cred with the athletes.

Nico leaving didn't make UT look. Bad. Neither did Kiffin leaving.

Worst take I've seen on this situation. You go after the best guy who might be interested. Period. No. UT won't forfeit the right to say Nico put himself before the team and overvalued his NIL worth then tried to leverage UT into basically putting him in charge of the program and athletic department.

Nico didn't "shaft" UT. His miscalculated and tried to strong arm UT. UT said goodbye and now Nico can't find a new team and will take a huge pay cut. Sucks that it had to happen at UT but this is actually a really good thing for CFB. Players with great deals won't be so inclined to look for greener grass.

Which 3* are you talking about? UT's two young scholarship QBs were both 4/5* in all the recruiting rankings I saw. Both have talent. We will see if either can step up into the role.

Don't give a damn if we loose every game next season. My blood is orange and I will wear it with pride till I'm dead and gone. No one ever said being a Vol was easy but things that are worthwhile never are
