You mean '84 or '90? Pell and Spurrier had rings made for those teams.

LSU won the SEC in 2011, but Miles had "#2 in the Nation" put on the rings instead.

I was only kidding around with you. In '92 (monsoon game) a Gator astro van had paint on the side claiming SEC champs '84-'91. Couldn't take it too serious due to it was panted with a spray can.

Yep, Spurrier insisted on having "1st in the SEC" painted on the wall to recognize the 84, 85 and 90 teams.

It disappeared when UF started racking up SEC titles in the 90s, and we started running out of space on the wall.

I see no problem with it. They arent claiming to be the best team in the country. I think the players deserve to celebrate an undefeated season, which is hard to accomplish regardless of conference.
