I may be wrong about this but I thought the reason they could not play for a title was because they were trading things they got at OSU for tats and other things. Now they give them rings?

Someone is getting a full sleeve tat done tonight!!

It's a Big 10 thing. Indiana gives out rings for sweet 16 appearances, makes "Back-to-Back Sweet 16" t-shirts. Nice job, there, Cody Zeller.

You know that they never actually made those shirts, right?

As for OSU, there's nothing wrong with a 12-0 ring. They went undefeated in a reasonably difficult BCS conference; if I were a player, I'd love to celebrate that accomplishment.

I got 2 trophies in basketball. One for participation and one for perfect attendance.

I think I was part of the last generation of kids who actually got bigger/better trophies for winning. Our junior pro teams got medals instead of trophies for finishing in the top 3 (in a 20 team league, so it was actually not easy), and our football teams always had the normal awards, most improved, offensive MVP, defensive MVP, etc.

Come on IU, you're better than that.

Next thing you know Kentucky will start retiring the jerseys of four scrubs who almost beat Duke in the Elite 8.

How do they get away with giving the players thousands of dollars worth of jewery while on probation? Isn't this part of the reason they are in trouble to begin with, might as well just hand the players cash.

The only real issue I have with OSU's rings are that they have "Champions" engraved. Should have just put "Undefeated" on them.

I see no problem with it. They arent claiming to be the best team in the country. I think the players deserve to celebrate an undefeated season, which is hard to accomplish regardless of conference.

It's not that hard to beat one ranked team a year, the highest ranked Big10 team in the coaches poll is Nebraska at 23:rock:
