On Pardon The Interruption they were just talking about the fairness(or lack there of) that Ohio st has 2 staffs right now. The staff that is coaching the bowl game has been left in tact and get to concentrate on the bowl game. CUM's new staff are on the road recruiting full time. Now the fact that they would make a story out of it leads me to believe that this isn't common practice and Kornheiser went on to say that Michigan and the other Big ten schools should be livid. Anyone else know anything about this situation?

I am pretty sure they got an exemption to have 2 extra coaches. NCAA does this kind of thing a lot not a big deal.

I can't believe this is legal. With how strict the 'AA is about who can coach and recruit, it's amazing this is allowed.

It really is the best thing to do for the kids. If the NCAA didn't allow it UM would just gut the staff and the kids would suffer for the bowl game. Its very commonly done.

2 of the staff member would not be able to go on the road. So its not like they have any extra guys out recruiting.

There is a limit for a reason, or else we would have 60 coaches on our staff, and recruit year long.

This is one of the few instances that I agree with the NCAA. It is their job to protect the integrity of the games played. If they didn't grant these waivers then the new coaches would clearly put absolutely no emphasis on the bowl games and gut these staffs. These schools are not getting more coaches to recruit and due to the upcoming Dead period are getting very little if any advantage with game planning for the bowl game. I applaud the NCAA for protecting the integrity of the bowl games for these kids.

ESPN likes to talk about Ohio State. They are in the same category as LeBron, Tebow, the Lakers, the Red Sox, and anything in New York and not in the NHL.

The NCAA has decided to award cheaters with an unfair advantage. It is wrong and has no justification. If a university is going to fire a coach before the bowl game then the university should deal with the consequences and not have the NCAA cheat for them by changing the rules. This is why most people do not like or trust the NCAA.

Please. ..The integrity of the bowl games isn't what they're protecting.

If the NCAA gave a damn about the integrity of the bowl games, Pryor and a few other Buckeyes would have never played against Arkansas.

Justin

That isn't what this thread is about. I would have to agree with you but its not the same as this discussion.
