My point is, he's conservative when he has to be. The most he really can open it up is letting Pryor roll out a little more. Anything else and OSU's turnovers shoot up.2006 he wasn't really conservative, but that was one year. His playcalling is also predictable and unimaginative. After the USC game, USC's players said they knew what plays OSU was going to run by the formations they lined up in.
No he didn't. He had an anemic offense that relied on the defense to win anything. The 2002 squad may have been the worst offensive squad to win a national title in the last 20 years or longer.OSU fans wouldn't mind the conservative playcalling so much if the plays actually worked. They haven't been able to pound the ball for short yardage consistently against top teams in the last few years, even with Beanie. He was conservative with Krenzel but he had a power running game that chewed the clock.
I'm still hoping he makes a big improvement like Vince Young did between his sophomore and junior year. I'm not counting on it.Pryor's still young and needs to work on passing yet too many times OSU keeps him in the pocket. They don't always play to his strengths. The zone read works well for one week then disappears the next.

I meant hoping, not making.Um, they were able to run the ball effectively with Clarett. Even against Miami, they got yards when they needed to.
Not sure what you mean by that but it's not far fetched to think he'll improve in his 3rd yr. VY was a redshirt jr anyway, and Pryor's supporting cast is still young.

And OSU couldn't count on their running game to win. They relied on big defensive plays and a whole lot of luck to win. That should have probably been a 4 loss team. They have gotten yards against bad teams, and maybe even had a few big plays in the bigger games, but all in all, the offense was bad.
The Ohio State fanbase is more obnoxious, bigger homers, and less intelligent as a group. So many college football fans here, and only a small percentage understand anything about college football. The fanbase is unbelievably spoiled and people have way too high expectations.
