I've heard of the theory, and without going into too much deatil I agree with it. If it was strictly fossil fuel I think there would be nowhere near the amount that exists.

Russian scientists and a conspiracy theory don’t lend it much credibility IMO.

please explain!

The accepted theory is the biogenic theory,

Most geologists view crude oil and natural gas as the product of compression and heating of ancient organic materials over geological time. ..

As opposed to the abiogeic theory:

It states that natural petroleum was formed from deep carbon deposits, perhaps dating to the formation of the Earth. The presence of methane in the solar system is taken as evidence. Supporters of the abiogenic hypothesis suggest that there may be a great deal more petroleum on Earth than commonly thought, and that petroleum may originate from carbon-bearing fluids which migrate upward from the mantle.

The reality is no one working for the oil companies is looking for abiogenic oil, so they won't find any.

Possibly several reasons for that.....

1) We do not believe the theory
2) We do not like being kicked-out(laughed-out) of the conference room
3) We would like to keep our jobs:whistling:
