OK Coach Bob Stoops does the unimaginable…

Not exactly sure but I saw a lot of stones cast internally on this forum due to that kickoff. Social media comments from other fanbases? Fu€k ‘em.
Our “fans” piss me off more. Maybe I think too highly of the average Vol fan’s intelligence though. But I think everyone looking at that coverage knew why we did it. Other fanbases I can understand them throwing shade bc we’re about to stomp their asses; got to get in those shots while you can.

The 18-year Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops began game week by releasing a statement saying that he wasn’t doing interviews ahead of Saturday’s game.

“Having a strong history with Brent Venables and Josh Huepel as players/coaches has led to far too many requests or interviews,” Stoops wrote. “I have a great respect for both coaches. I’m forever grateful for their work at OU; Brent as a coach here for 13 years including our national championship in 2000.

Josh as our 2000 national championship QB & coach for 10 years. I’ve often said he is the MVP of all my recruits because he is the catalyst that got us started in ’99.”

Stoops spelled Heupel’s name wrong in his statement. A former boss should be able to spell his name correctl!

After getting wrongly fired from Ok as OC ten years ago, and then this, how motivated would you be to kick ass?
It is always tiring to see some (many) of our fans get prematurely over-hyped about our team. First of all, this Stoops statement was done by a PR staff in house - he barely saw it or maybe glanced at it. Before we get out over our skis too far, let us see how we manage a road night game at an historic college football venue against a talented team who I believe will give their best effort by far of the season. And objectively speaking, our player rating scores on O Line from PFF are fairly pedestrian to be honest (ie, gave up 4 qb pressures to Kent St). So time will tell. But I dislike these kind of threads that just beg to be inflammatory to opponents locker rooms. And don't doubt for one minute that stuff like this gets printed out and posted. Dream big my fellow fans, but lets be realistic on the challenge upcoming.

As his coach, Stoops loved Huepel’s pocket presents.

Hopefully coach is ignoring all this. It's nothing but a distraction. Win the game and all of this just goes POOF!

I've been around and I'm back if yall have me. I acted a fool on here a couple years back and to be honest I was ashamed. I had to get myself some help. I cut down on the drinking and I've been doing damn good Hoss. Feels great to be back with my Family here.

Hi dduncan!

Obviously if you win a natty as a QB there is always going to be affinity there. That’s a major high point in your life. Bigger than getting fired. Oh well, I like our chances.

Doing well, had a few health issues (as we all do at times) but nothing to get me down. I don't remember the foolish stuff you refer to, I figured anyone that followed Unknown was a little un-tethered Lol. Good to have you back; you are a valued contributor to VN! Have at it Hoss! hey, glad you got the help you needed if you needed it. I gotta go now, clean them foggy winders.

The good news for UT is that they will never have these issues to deal with.

They've been practicing since January against our offense was a tidbit Herby pushed out to the national audience while the game was close early. Given that Vug Venables, Vug O U,, and Vug anyone promoting that program. How ‘bout dat?
