"It was awesome to give (Jackson Ross) an opportunity to redshirt," Ekeler said of his Australian punter. "He has a chance to be a really unique and special player, and we are excited about him. Kolby Morgan is doing a great job too. Those guys are out there competing, which is the way you want it. They are both doing an awesome job and having a lot of fun.Anyone know what we look like at punter? Curious who’s starting this year since Paxton is gone
He never announced starting wide receiversI got a chance to watch a replay of Heup's conference. Only news of note for me is Heup did announce Bru McCoy, Squirrel White and Ramel Keyton will be our starting WRs. All with speed so expect Milton to air it out often with that cannon of his. Heup also mentioned Oregon transfer Dont’e Thornton is really impressing the coaches. At 6'5" and a 36' vertical he has all gifts to really be a NFL caliber WR. On defense 25-year-old Keenan Pili, the transfer from BYU, is really impressing, especially as a leader. His teammates have nicknamed him Grandpa but mainly out of respect. He will likely be the Defensive captain. The only real negative is when asked if they had a pass rusher to replace Byron Young Heup responded "not yet." That is not great news. Hopefully the young, highly touted guys like Joshua Josephs, James Pearce and Caleb Herring can mature quickly.
I wouldnt worry about pass rushers until gameday. We really didnt have (The Guy) the year Barnett hit the field either. Barnett emerged fall camp. This is what fall camp is for.I got a chance to watch a replay of Heup's conference. Only news of note for me is Heup did announce Bru McCoy, Squirrel White and Ramel Keyton will be our starting WRs.
