No one runs on a platform of making government bigger. They run on a platform of making government bigger while pretending that they are not making it bigger, and with feel-good programs and playing on our emotions they further entrench the hold that the federal apparatus has over the people.

Both parties are guilty. I've always said the difference between a Democrat and a Republican is that a Democrat will screw you over while telling you it's for your own good, and a Republican will screw you over while telling you that they are trying to stop people from screwing you over.
