The OFFICAL BANK POLICY on Check cashing is:

There’s a bank that doesn’t operate on the same standards as all others. It’s found in Knoxville, TN. The Bank of Orange has been writing some checks. BIG checks; on 2 freshman quarterbacks whom they felt were already NFL Hall of Famers (or is that Farmers). Auburn showed up Saturday night to cash those checks, and there was nothing to be found.

No accuracy, no phenomenon, no walking on water, and no referee help – and that spelled -
NO VICTORY!

How a coaching staff of a major SEC college can start freshman is one question, how they can start talking Heisman trophy candidate after beating Nevada Agricultural and Pest Control High School, is another. Tennessee fans really see things through orange colored glasses, even though they are blind.

Blind to the fact that they have not got Johnny Unitas and Michael Vick as “Co-Starters.”

Blind to the fact that an Arkansas QB is not going to mysteriously just drop the football while running out the clock and give them a national championship this year.

Blind to the fact those UNREACHABLE expectations are taking all the fun out of being a fan of the big orange even with a 10-win season.

Blind to the fact that those 2 freshman QB’s could not cash the checks on 4 years of undefeated national championship football for Volnatics.

Well, maybe they do see that their undefeated season has slipped away.

In the words of Phillip Fulmer himself – which he spoke to the Florida fans last week after their loss to Tennessee, Get Over It!

Hey dumbass,I think most of us in here have accepted that we were whooped by a better team and that our program needs some fixings. It's ignorant asses as yourself that want to keep running your mouths,so in all respect,I think you need to move on.

Hey jadedtruthteller, the idiots at ESPN are the ones that started the heiseman hype, and for that mysterious Arkasas fumble there is no mystery -his own player stepped on him after getting smashed in the mouth by our D-lineman (so tired of the lucky win against ArK crap they still could have stopped us after we got the ball back, but they didn't so tough cookies, and as I've said before the calls in the Florida game did go our way , but they didn't put the winning pionts on the board like they did for Florida with Gafney's "catch " in the endzone, and Florida's D could have stopped us , but they didn't so yeah you and florida can get over it!) as for seeing thru orange colored glasses, if you don't like the view go visit a Bama site, and I don't care if we loose the rest of our games this season, every true Vols fan will still be pulling for them and still having high expectations, cause that's what you do when you pull for the best football program in the nation.....so :biteme:

First off, you must be a Bama fan. How the stupidity shines from Bama fans. If you're not a Bama fan, well then......I apologize to you, but the stupidity statement stays. ;)

We all know Tuberville and how he coaches(which means, he'll eventually choke). Auburn better win the SEC this year because if they don't, it'll be a long time before they'll have another chance. How many seniors are they losing at key positions??

I'll take this loss, our freshmen qbs needed it. No way did I ever think we'd run the table in the SEC this year. Just too young. But.....

.....we still beat Florida, good season so far. Beat that lousy Bama team and it's a fantastic season!! I expected us to lose four games before the season started now we should only lose two, three tops. And Truth, we have two very young QBs that you'll be seeing for a longtime, along with a very young defense that's playing better every game. Our young offensive line is playing great ball, too. We may not be a top ten team but once this team matures, look the HELL OUT!! You read it here first!

Dang right I see thru orange glasses, but it's better than the green ones you're wearing!

The Vols played about as poorly as I've seen. However, a few things should be pointed out.

Unlike the Maryland game a couple of seasons ago, the Vols never gave up.

Auburn punted 4 times in the 2nd half, threw 1 interception, and had to settle for a field goal after starting the drive at the UT 26-yd line.

Campbell was 4-of-8 for 12 yards and 1 interception in the 2nd half. This after completing 12-of-15 for 240 yards and 2 touchdowns in the 1st half. (and they came out passing the start the 2nd half, with 3 passing attempts on their first series)

Williams had 10 att for 39 yds (3.9 avg) and Brown had 7 att for 19 yds (2.7 avg) in the 2nd half. This after Williams had 14 att for 56 yds (4.0 avg) and Brown had 6 att for 38 yds (6.3) in the 1st half.

Auburn had 4 first downs in the 2nd half after having 13 in the first half.

ALL of Auburn's scores came right after turnovers or special teams screwups. 10 pts after interceptions, 7 pts after a fumble, 7 pts after blocked punt, 7 pts after shanked punt, and 3 pts after long return and penalty.

The Vols were in scoring range 5 times during the game. They resulted in a field goal, a touchdown, and 3 interceptions.

Auburn punted 4 times in the game, while the Vols punted only 3 times.

My :twocents: :

I thought the biggest momentum shift occurred when Ainge fumbled the ball back to Auburn on the 1-yd line. The defense had already missed a sure interception (and UT touchdown) on Auburn's 3rd offensive play of the game when Tennessee defensive back Fellows handed the ball to Auburn receiver Courtney Taylor. After Ainge's fumble and subsequent Auburn touchdown put the Tigers up 14-3... The Vols had the Tigers backed up deep, 3rd and 25-yds. I've seen this next play 3 times: once live, once on the stadium jumbotron, and back at home in slow-motion on my tivo. The official called Auburn receiver D. Aromashodu in-bounds on a 46-yard prayer. No one will be able to convince me that he was in-bounds. Although that only led to a field goal and 17-3 lead, the reaction by the fans in the stands... and maybe even the players?... was that Auburn was catching all the breaks. The key to the Auburn game was that the Vols put NO pressure on Campbell in the first half.

Georgia coming up. I love the way people have the "what have you done for me lately" attitude. Everyone is now thinking about the LSU whipping that Georgia gave and the whipping that Tennessee just took from Auburn. For some reason, they seem to forget Tennessee's win over Florida and surprisingly, that another team UT beat, LaTech, looked pretty good beating 17th ranked Fresno State this past weekend. They also forget Georgia's offensive struggles against South Carolina and Marshall. It seems people forget that Georgia beat LSU a few seasons ago the week prior to playing Tennessee, was heavily favored to win in Athens, and the Vols still prevailed 22-3.

FYI - the latest BCS rankings are in. Georgia is now ranked # 2. The Vols rank # 16. Auburn checks in at # 6.

Allvol, your line that said I thought the biggest momentum shift was when Ainge fumbled the ball. That all sounds so familiar, like last year when Casey fumbled the ball right before the half against Georgia. We had total control of that game before that happened. Then we come out in the second half and Georgia destroyed us.If we can't get back the momentum in a game then there is a big problem going on there.

MAY I ADDRESS THE PENUT GALLERY:

1) U VOLS GOT ON BOARD WITH THE HEISMAN TALK. FATFUL DIDNT STOP HIS FAN BASE FROM SUCH HIGH EXPECTATIONS. (MISTAKE 1)

2) NAME CALLING ME A BAMA FAN MEANS YOU HAVE TO PICK ON A TEAM THAT YOU CAN BEAT. TYPICAL THUG BULLIES - JAMAL, LENORD, ETC. ETC.
(MISTAKE 2)

3) THE VOLS DID NOT PLAY AS POORLY AS YOU HAVE SEEN, GO TAKE A LOOK AT THE LAST 2 PEACH BOWLS. (MISTAKE 3)

4) IF YOU GUYS WOULD JUST NOT EXPECT TO BE 12-0 EVERY YEAR (ESPECIALLY A YEAR WITH A (FORMER HEISMAN CONTENDING)FRESHMAN QUARTERBACK, YOU MIGHT HAVE SOME FUN WITH LIFE. (MISTAKE 4)

5) WITHOUT THE REFS - YOUR 2-2. 2 WINS AGAINST PEST CONTROL COLLEGE, AND 2 LOSSES TO SEC TEAMS. ITS NOT GOING TO BE A PRETTY YEAR. AN UNDEFEATED YEAR. (MISTAKE 5-INFINITY, YALL MAKE THAT MISTAKE EVERY YEAR.)

:)

FATFUL = Phil Fulmer? highest winning pct among coaches with 10 years

I have not read one post where anyone actually expected a freshman to win the Heisman, much less a UT player. I don't think a UT player will ever finish higher than 2nd. You can check history on that if you want to.

2) NAME CALLING ME A BAMA FAN MEANS YOU HAVE TO PICK ON A TEAM THAT YOU CAN BEAT. TYPICAL THUG BULLIES - JAMAL, LENORD, ETC. ETC.

True, the Vols do beat Bama often. I don't know that beating Bama is like being a bully. Alabama does own the highest winning pct among SEC schools. However, I will say that I thoroughly enjoy beating those lying CHEATING thugs from Alabama.

If you are referring to "thug bullies" as Jamal and Lenord... a.k.a Jamal Lewis and Leonard Little, show me any university that has 100% squeaky clean players? Matter of fact, show me ANY person who is squeaky clean. Remember, when you point the finger at someone, you've got 4 pointing back at yourself. All are Sinners and fall short of the Glory of God.

3) THE VOLS DID NOT PLAY AS POORLY AS YOU HAVE SEEN, GO TAKE A LOOK AT THE LAST 2 PEACH BOWLS. (MISTAKE 3)

I'm sure in the Vols 100+ years of playing football, that they have played much worse. The Peach Bowl against Maryland was pretty bad, one of the worst I've seen. The Peach Bowl against Clemson I would not classify as the worst. However, beauty (and ugliness) is in the eye of the beholder, and I don't think you can judge others, if in their opinion, the Auburn game was the worst game that Tennessee has ever played.

4) IF YOU GUYS WOULD JUST NOT EXPECT TO BE 12-0 EVERY YEAR (ESPECIALLY A YEAR WITH A (FORMER HEISMAN CONTENDING)FRESHMAN QUARTERBACK, YOU MIGHT HAVE SOME FUN WITH LIFE. (MISTAKE 4)

I've read alot of posts on this board, and most thought the Vols would finish the season with anywhere from 3 losses to 6 losses. I usually have lots of fun in life, win or lose. Don't get me wrong, I like to win, I would like to win them all, but I also realize that the odds are against winning them all every year. 80+ % over the last decade is pretty nice though. Not many schools claim such consistancy.

Pest Control #1 - UNLV - coached by John Robinson (you can check his resume)
Pest Control #2 - La Tech - which just beat 17th ranked Fresno State and only has losses to Miami and Tennessee

NOTE: Tennessee does NOT play I-AA nor II schools I would compare Tennessee's non-conference schedule on an annual basis with just about any other school. The Vols have scheduled UCLA, Miami, Notre Dame, Syracuse, etc. on a regular basis.

The ref comment.... let me quote Tommy Tuberville, "We normally go by who has the most points on the scoreboard at the end of the game."
3-1 is... well.... 3-1. Like it or don't like it, it is FACT.

A follow up:

Give 6, I said what I had to say to VOLNATION. It aint all about you. Get a life, schmuck.

Storm, it doesnt matter who I am a fan of, the conversation is about the VOL unrealistic expectations of your fan base and coaching staff. Grow up!

Fade, were you laughing at vol responses??

Yaz, add something to the conversation besides cussing during a chew spit.

and ALL - thanks for the first intelligent response of the day. You will make a good fan for another program when u get tired of having unreachable expectations crammed down your throat. Be thinking about a back up team, they would be glad to have a good thinker like yourself.

From National Champions to 12 point underdogs in 4 weeks.
EXPECTATIONS PEOPLE, EXPECTATIONS!
