Couldn’t Oklahoma have taken their time on the defensive substitution and let the clock run out on the 4th down FG? Why hurry and risk the penalty?

There are a few factors here.

* I think OU got a false sense of security that Hawkins was ready for the job with a couple late TDs against the Vols.

*It's much harder to win on the road.

*Auburn needs this game.

*OU spent all off-season preparing for UT.

*Auburn seems to be playing their best game of the season.
Yeah I think they jumped the gun a little on swapping qb's. The UT defense had a lot to do with Arnold looking bad. Hawkins is a little too 1 dimensional and they would have probably been better off sticking with Arnold.

Frankly I’m not sure either one of them is that good to begin with.

Let’s be real, Oklahoma could lose today and it doesn’t reflect badly on us. Oklahoma has half their team out for injuries
They don’t get an asterisk next to that loss due to injuries. The general football world only cares about the final score.

Huepel would have…they would have run their kicking team out and he would have had a couple players take about 14 seconds to get off the field…

On passing plays he has one receiver he’s looking for and pulls it to run it that’s not there…they will have get Arnold in if they can’t get a running game going.

I don’t like that PI call because the ball was out of bounds, uncatchable. I remember Oklahoma benefited from a call like that in 2015 against us that lead to the tying TD.
