Oklahoma Names Venables New Head Coach

Clemson could hit the trifecta with Venables leaving for Oklahoma and Radinovich possibly becoming the Miami athletic director and Elliott going elsewhere,

Thats what they will say at his press conference. Do we really think thats the first choice?
Yes. He used us for a raise when we hired Pruitt and would not even return our call when we hired Hoops. Venables will be considered a home run hire until such time as he proves otherwise.

Losing Venables is a major loss for Clemson. Their defense was the only thing keeping them in the game this past season.

Tennessee needs to get back in the Carolinas and recruit. Used to dominate recruiting in the Carolinas and so many of our greatest players came from North and South Carolina.....

Venables is by far the biggest loss of the three. The AD arrived after Dabo was the HC and really hasn't done much. He's retained a lousy BB coach and made a few hires for other sports.

Elliot is honestly not a great OC. The last couple of QBs have masked his deficiencies but they were glaring this year.

Does the tall, dirty blonde in the middle make you think:

a) enough makeup to make Bozo the Clown envious
b) dumber than a box of rocks
c) one night stand waiting to happen
d) all of the above

Is every press conference out there the Saturday Night Live version or is it just this one?

Dude will be gone in 3 yrs…….

Why? OU isn’t expected to begin SEC play until 2025. Meanwhile, he has 2 HOF coaches in his backyard that he can lean on for advice while gearing up for SEC play with his own players and coaches . He’ll be there more than 6, probably until he’s done.

OU fans are going to expect the same results they’ve been having and I don’t think BV will be able to continue the status quo.

Maybe not, but then again, they've demonstrated that they can reach the playoffs with the weakest team very often. I don't think it's that hard for them. With Sark at Texas, at least they won't have to worry about Texas. The CFP is all about who finishes in front of you, and it remains to be seen what we think of the "power 5" 2 years from now. Hard to say. If they come in 5th because USC is in front of them, then we'd have to agree Riley leaving knocked them out. That could easily happen.
