Think pollsters will overlook this and call it a win for the sake of rankings, since it should have been?

I guess it really doesnt matter. If they beat TX, OU and TCU, they will win the conference and be good to go. But if they lose, then they will end up ranked lower where they should be. Just a shame in a way. Maybe I'm a softie - I live in OK but I aint no Cowboy, but some of my friends are.

After reading about the "blown" call, the officials interpretation was not as egregious as first thought. If this had happened at the end of a quarter, then the quarter ends, and the penalty is enforced at the beginning of the next quarter. However, there is no explanation if it happens at the end of a game. The general theory is that a team can't benefit from its own penalty, but OSU certainly would have benefitted from its own intentional grounding penalty. Of course, part of the penalty is loss of down, but as called, a team could do exactly what they did. The head of officials said it would have to be addressed in the offseason.

It kind of reminds me of the penalty against Eric Berry against UK in 2007. We blocked a FG either with no time left or in overtime. Berry picked up the ball and had an open field but was tackled by the face mask. A flag was thrown, but there was no real penalty because there was no time left.
