It's good call-out regarding getting back on D although I would really only be concerned if he was unable to up his assigned man versus stopping the ball given our rotation of players have all shown themselves to be more than capable of playing high level D. As for his drives, he has shown he can finish at a high rate and, besides, if we aren't attacking the basket to make the game easier (lay-up, dunks and FT's) we aren't going to win the tough games anyway and Jahmai is arguably 1 of our best at doing this. It's dicey to have him down low or in the corner on offense because his transition defense us so important. Of course he has to drive it if the lane's there but I'm not sure about having him that deep when the other team rebounds and starts their break is idea.
It would depend on the opponent. Against a team like Alabama you would definately need him on retreat but not against a slow paced team. It's good call-out regarding getting back on D although I would really only be concerned if he was unable to up his assigned man versus stopping the ball given our rotation of players have all shown themselves to be more than capable of playing high level D. Agree the opponent and their style of play could be a factor. Having said that, you can easily have Jahmai immediately release on any shot by the opponent in which case he's at/beyond midcourt by the team the shot is rebounded on a miss anyway. It would depend on the opponent. He is a hoss. Plays hard. He is fun to watch.2-6 from the floor (one being a 3 -pointer to just beat the shot clock) , 4-5 from the line, 9 points, 12 boards, 1 block.....just shy of a double-double.
Felix continues to show up night in and night out. He's playing the big-man role quite nicely for us!
He and Milicic seem the most consistent.Okapara with 16 points, 4 blocks, 2-3 from the line, and 4 boards.
Could have used some more boards, but definitely coming through with the points and blocks.
He is the only guy on the team that has done his part in all our SEC games.
Thanks for showing up again, Felix.
We have definitely upgraded by swapping him for Aidoo.
Definitely had a hip pointer issue he was working through. He and Milicic seem the most consistent.
Milicic has brought something in pretty much every game he has played. He had off games vs Louisville and Western Carolina where he only played like 12-16 mins but other than that contributed rebounds points or both in every other game. Rarely gets in foul trouble.
Okpara is like silently plugging along as a glue guy it seems. he has almost completely disappeared a few games but that was earlier in the season and I think he was hurt? I honestly think he's been playing through an injury all season. But dude is swatting shots like a pro. He needs to seriously look at some NIL opportunities with Orkin or Raid.
Okpara played very well. How was he suppose to rebound when he's being held by Broome? (Both links) Refs have too much influence on basketball.
