Our offensive line has a large number of Seniors. It’ll easily be our biggest off-season question mark. Below I’ve listed everyone that’s a senior on our roster.
Does anyone know who has eligibility remaining due to COVID year or other reasons?
John Campbell - Finished
Javontaz Spraggins - has an option to return
Jeremiah Crawford - has a redshirt year available and has only played in 4 games. If he doesn't play anymore, he could return
Cooper Mays - has an option to return
Parker Ball - No idea. not on scholarship.
Dayne Davis - has an option to return
Jackson Lampley - has an option to return
Ollie Lane - Finished
If the entire list is gone your only returning Starters are:
Gerald Mincey
Andre Karic
We do have a few bodies (8):
Shad Umarov 6’7 320
Larry Johnson 6’7 348
Brian Grant 6’7 329
Addison Nichols 6’5 327
Masai Reddick 6’5 340
Ayden Bussell 6’5 295
Mo Clipper 6’5 308
Vysen Lang 6’4 337
But we carried 18 OL this year. So we can almost certainly expect a couple of transfers in with 10 of note returning. We have 4 committed. We could see 2-4 transfers at this position alone.
I think Spraggins, Mays, Davis and Lampley could all come back for an extra year. Our offensive line has a large number of Seniors. It’ll easily be our biggest off-season question mark. Below I’ve listed everyone that’s a senior on our roster.

It's not that it's bad. It's just that the majority of OL don't contribute earlier than third year as redshirt sophomores. Many not until fourth year. I've got numbers somewhere that show for the 2022 class 108 of the top 120 lineman redshirted. If I checked my guess is that 75 percent of the 120 are doing no more than special teams this year...This past years class that bad? That they won’t be able to help next year?
So if we assume those who can move on will move on, who do we project will be the starters. I understand it’s impossible to be accurate without knowing how the portal shakes out… just trying to get a grip on how big the need is.Our offensive line has a large number of Seniors. None of the guys who can’t move on have ever started for us. That should tell you what you need to know.@vol_in_ga thanks but I don’t see my question discussed in either thread
O)urn Oline will be better next year, especially if #83 decides to come back. Our offensive line has a large number of Seniors. It’ll easily be our biggest off-season question mark. Below I’ve listed everyone that’s a senior on our roster.

Speaking of Mincey, what’s up with him. Davis started Saturday which made me think Mincey was hurt. But when Davis was injured Mincey came in. Is Mincey in the doghouse over something again? We need to hit the portal hard for the offensive line. At center, guard and tackle...at least one for each position and ideally 2 guards on interior We have a ton of starting opportunities for offensive lineman in the portal but our offense isn't exactly the most conducive for a big guy to come in and excel immediately, given the pace we play at. If all the upperclassmen leave, we are going to be extremely young. Most of the seniors should leave as the chances of them improving their stock for NFL draft isn't likely to change much.
At center, I expect Cooper Mays is gone which leaves us with few experienced options. At this point without any changes Vysen Lang would probably be the starter which isn't ideal given he is a freshman.
At guard, Spraggins I expect is gone too. Nothing else to prove for him. Which leaves us with Andrej Karic as one of the few interior lineman with much experience and he was often hurt. Lampley could come back but he isn't good enough and the coaches should tell him they don't have room for him. Time for players like Nichols, Reddick, Clipper to grow up.
At tackle, assuming Mincy comes back he probably would be deemed our best offensive lineman. Dayne Davis could return for another year, and expect he will as he isn't going to be playing pro anywhere. At least we have a number of bodies at tackle. Johnson III, Grant, Umarov, and incoming recruits like Bennett Warren and Max Anderson all have a chance to start or get into rotation.
Looks weak going into next year unless we add multiple quality players in portal. Like potentially as bad as South Carolina's offensive line was this year or Kentucky's was last year. I trust Elarbee but he is going to have to be a miracle worker with this young group.
He got embarrassed vs Missouri. There’s a good breakdown of the game on YouTube that exposes it. Can’t remember the YouTuber’s name but it was posted hereSpeaking of Mincey, what’s up with him.
