Has there ever been a head coach to receive a show cause related to their violations at two different schools? LOL[/QUOTE]

Tark the Shark got into trouble at both Long Beach State and UNLV if memory serves me well. I don't think they had "show cause" penalties then but if they did, you know Shark would have got one. He also sued the low life NCAA and won.

Gosh wouldn't you loved to hear what he could say over the UNC fiasco.

FBI claims they have evidence to show Ricky Pitino knew of all of the deals. If Ricky P, who lives at the foot of the crossknew, you damn sure know a NCAA scumbag like Pearl knew. He is wise not saying anything. You can find another job but not going to prison is the objective here

He's wise not saying anything to the FBI. In any kind of serious matter, especially if you are being looked at as a potential suspect, it's smart to not talk to the police. Innocent or guilty. Nothing you tell them is going to help you.

Pearl's problem now is that is employer is demanding they cooperate with them, and he's refusing. They've responded by holding his job over his head. Not a good position to be in, to say the least...

So how many people who were screaming for BP to come back here want to walk that back?

Honestly, for a non-basketball school like Tennessee, it might have been worth it to bring him back. It's kind of like Hugh Freeze at Ole Miss. Ole Miss is a football school, but does not have a great football program or a football reputation/brand to uphold. They might have to vacate all those victories, and it is a black mark on their program, but they didn't have a great football program to begin with. Ole Miss doesn't have to forfeit any of the money, and any of the donated money, that rolled in because they were good.

That was a great time for them financially, and if they are bad in the wake of the scandal, they can live with that because they usually aren't good anyway. The excess they experienced during the good years more than makes up for the lean years, and likely made it worth doing. People are still going to come for The Grove like they always have.

Not endorsing cheating at all, but that's the reality at schools that don't have as much to lose.

When Martin left and we got Tyndall, I would have taken him back though I knew there was no chance it would happen.

But now, not a chance; even before all this it was clear the old Bruce was gone.

Hiring Tyndall was the second worst hire in our AD's history. Dooley holds the number one spot. Neither deserved the job they got.

Don't know about Tyndall, but Dooley had the best-looking resume of all the coaches who said "yes." Seriously. He had head coaching experience, ties to Saban, and a good pedigree. Nobody else who was interested in taking the job had any of those things.

The program was an absolute dumpster fire when he was fired and no established coach wanted it at any price.

He was just coming off a 4-8 season at Louisiana Tech. His resume was garbage.

that's when you give the job to the interim coach and keep trying to find someone instead of settling for complete slop.

I never said his resume was anything other than garbage. I said his resume was the best-looking of the guys that said yes. He was the nicest car at the junkyard.

GAVol is right in that the proper course of action was name Kippy the interim and then conduct a proper coaching search - you would have had all the time in the world.

Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl has told his players to pay no heed to reports that his job is on the line over not cooperating with the school's internal investigation into his program.
"I said, 'Guys, don't worry about it. This is just going through the process,'" Pearl told AL.com's James Crepea.
