As a general rule of thumb, where businesses tend to benefit from economies of scale, governments do not. Breaking our country into smaller sovereign states does present certain problems, but it fixes a lot of issues, too. I don't get how people are so dismissive of this, as if the current iteration of federal government is a model of success. We are totally broke. We are totally wasteful. We are totally corrupt. We are totally dismissive of revolutionary ideas for fixing this.
