OldTimer’s Dugout - General Topics, Chat, Random Photos and Memes.......No Politics

Forgot about that haven't been to a Thurs game this season...so they'll be even cheaper. Sadly I can not have a single one on my current diet. :( Ahh well, we'll enjoy cheap sodas. It's all about a night with the boy and Mrs.
They have $2 small fountain drinks on Thursdays so it should be an inexpensive night at the concession stand for you.

Last Thursday I went to there was law enforcement coming out of the woodwork hanging out all throughout the stadium and outside the stadium. They must have had some belligerent drunks in the past.
Can't drink at all while on diet. I'm stone cold sober. To be honest I appreciate their presence, this is very much a kid friendly environment and I prefer it that way.

I've always enjoyed a few beers during a game mind you and diet aside would enjoy them again, but never to the point of getting drunk. That's not what it's about. I do appreciate the fact you can afford to go there with a family, with kids, get tickets, drinks, and maybe an item or two at gift shop, and not be absolutely broke afterwards. Though my kid pushes that last part a bit.....lol he better not try and hit me up for another jersey!

Hey, I’m not an opera fan, but then again I’ve never been personally. Who knows for sure. I remember that Johnny Majors was a big opera and symphony fan.

I have to admit that I got involved in theatre and Shakespeare many years ago while a UTK student. Don’t ask me how, because it was quite the accident. I must say that while I enjoyed organic chemistry much more, I learned a heck of a lot about theatre. I think it allowed me to accept and learn to really enjoy all the musicals and plays I would by required to attend (by the spouse) after marriage. I go to the Tennessee Theatre, Clarence Brown, and to lots of plays whenever we are in NYC.

I guess I’m a “cultured” man at this point, which isn’t such a bad thing. However, in the end, if I have a choice between theatre or UT sports, I’m taking the sports ten times out of ten.
I’m sure @Volprofch05 appreciates you liking organic chemistry! I’ve attended lots of live entertainment throughout my life, so I noted your spelling of ‘theatre,’ versus ‘theater.’

While I do appreciate that, it is kind of a given seeing as everyone loves organic chemistry!

I know! That’s why I’m wearing my ‘I love organic chemistry’ shirt again for the umpteenth time in a row today. I wear that puppy out!

I saw a student with a shirt with Haslam business school written in the traditional baseVols script. I need to get something like that but for chemistry.

The gift shop can definitely be a money pit 😂

Strider is the only starting pitcher in the majors that has an opportunity to get to 20 wins this season. He is sitting at 18 wins and will have two scheduled starts remaining, both coming against the Nationals. Snell seems to be the favorite to win NL Cy Young but is on one of the most underachieving teams of all-time.
