The rook, Spencer Schwellenbach with another great outing. Goes 6 strong innings with 2 ER and 7 K. His ERA after his first 6 starts was sitting at 5.68. After his last 6 starts he has lowered it to 3.95. 8 of his first 12 career MLB starts have resulted in 3 ER or less. That will get the job done on any major league roster. If he can keep having outings like this then we may actually be in good shape next season even if we lose Fried to free agency.

I see the Dodgers roughed up David Skenes yesterday. Pathetic performance against a slumping team. Pirates have lost 3 of his last 4 starts and he hasn’t struck out more than 8 batters in a game in a calendar month. I guess we can stop anointing him as the GOAT.

Well, we got the TV out of the box & hooked it up & finally got the cable working.
So far so good w/the viewing & the color from a 55" inch screen. Got it on just as the Cowboys & Rams started to play. Been watching that game & checking things out w/ the little pos remote control that came w/the unit. It'll get me through this Vols football season of games which I can't wait to see w/this TV.

Well the good news is the Phillies are getting shellacked in the desert by the Snakes 8-2 B6.

Barring a miracle, the Bravos will be 6.5 GB. Bad news is the Phillies get 6 games at home between the Fish and Nats coming up while the Braves play on the road in San Fran and Los Angeles. Luckily we are playing the little brother in Los Angeles. Braves vs Phillies on 8/20. Hopefully we have our together by then and are 5 GB whenever they come to town. A three game sweep of them could put us in a great position down the home stretch.

Epic freaking meltdown in the bottom of the 8th. 8-2 lead turns into a 9-8 deficit heading into the top of the 9th. Went from having a fantastic bounce back series to an embarrassment. Braves season in a nutshell.
