OldTimer’s Dugout - General Topics, Chat, Random Photos and Memes.......No Politics

My birthday is in December if you need ideas.

I'm pretty excited this morning and it's a carry over from yesterday because I finished up my course work in all four of my classes and all I have to do now is take the final exam in each class in early December.

Why I'm effed in the head: I'm so excited, I can't even sleep in. So here I am.

I'm about to mimic what my mom did for me daily when I was growing up and that is make breakfast.

One of my childhood and adolescent memories was waking up, open my bedroom door and smell bacon or waffles or eggs or whatever she was making me/us that morning. Although towards the end of high school I ate cheese and nuts for breakfast and would have some coffee.

Today I'm going with eggs with cheese, bacon and coffee.

If Georgia loses to us they would be eliminated from the SEC Championship with three conference losses. Heather Dinich comes off as a dumbass for even bringing up a 3 loss Georgia in the playoff. She keeps saying “well in every year of the rankings there has been a 3 loss team in the top 10”. Well Heather, that was before the SEC was about to have like 5 teams at 10-2 or better. It’s never happened like this before.
Thank you, I definitely didn't know about the 3 loss rule for the SEC championship!
Well, it is what it is, but I don't think it matters either. IF UGA has 3 losses I don't see how they win the SEC Championship anyway. UGA doesn't pass they eye test whether it's the SEC or a National Championship because they can't run the ball and when they go for a deep pass, Beck throws INTs. That leaves screen passes, which if you only have one way of moving the ball vertically, you're not going anywhere and I'm MORE than sure Tennessee will shove that down UGA's throat very soon.

Ugh, if I recall correctly 2 years ago the CFP put us at #1 the week of the UGA game. Now, they rank them out of the playoff the week of our game. Are they trying to maximize motivation for the dawgs?
We have a BINGO winner here. Hey, @MAD make a meme of a trophy for the Prof.

I do have a real concern for Tennessee and that is the refs in the up coming game. As you know, what refs don't call is a game changer and home teams seem to get a lot of very significant "No calls" for hold and pass interference.

I truly hope Nico's concussion protocol is more of a tactical move than it is a reality that he's injured.

Good morning.
That last part is really difficult.

I completely agree, but this year, I don't think UGA has what it takes.

2 years ago, UGA had Stetson Bennett and Beck is no Bennett and it's not even close.

ESPN's computer driven model can predict a victory all it wants with it's win probability at 62%, but it doesn't and can't factor in who the QB will be for Tennessee.

A more accurate forecast might be Vegas, which currently indicates UGA by 10.5

I don't understand why the spread is that large. Home teams in the NFL and NCAA football tend to get 2.5 to 3.5 pts for playing at home. In this instance, take out 3.5 from current line and Vegas favors UGA by 7?

Tennessee defense is way beyond anything UGA displayed this entire year so far and I'm quite certain if they had any really great plays left in their play book, they would have used them the last game they played so that they could weather the storm of a Tennessee lost at home.

Being desperate for a win won't magically make the UGA O-line better or give them a running game so they could draw the safeties closer to the line of scrimmage and give UGA WR some breathing room.

I honestly think Tennessee will win fairly comfortably unless the refs are interfering every 3-6 plays all game long.

The ESPN gurus disagree with you. GA at home (last I saw) was favored 62% to win Sat. That only leaves the Vols a slim 38% winning margin for this game. If Nico is ruled out for this game, I'm sure the % margine only goes up more for GA to win. ESPN is fairly accurate in picking winners & losers that I've seen over the years. But, we shall see who ends up with this win after the clock ends the 4th Qtr. With our "Hail Mary pass" by Dobbs to win in GA, I don't recall (like some do) a win at GA over the last couple of yrs.

Shirley, you wouldn't think the refs would "secretly" favor GA over a #6 Vols team?
