Maryland and Colorado State had the best finish of the tournament so far. Colorado State hit a 3 to go up 71-70 and then Maryland hit a shot to win it at the buzzer 72-71.

So did anyone else notice the big Md freshman take 3 full steps after picking up his dribble on the buzzer beater? I understand the current philosophy that the players are “so much bigger and faster” and “it’s so much harder to officiate” (which I don’t buy) but good grief, traveling is traveling. It shouldn’t matter if it’s the last shot of the game.

I can also tell you the officials in the womens’ games are no better, but they go to the other extreme. One of the LV’s was called for a travel when she was being pressured (and fouled) by 2 Buckeye girls, and she was dribbling the ball!!?

Jay Wright and Candace Parker both said Queen didn't travel on the play. According to the rules it was the correct call, then the host of the show said thanks for clarifying for the millions of refs at home .

Just like someone(?) stated earlier, the mid majors no longer have those 4th and 5th year veterans to carry them to upsets and make this tournament special.

Those guys are transferring to power 5 schools.
Mid majors are nothing more than minor leagues for the power conferences.
And take note, because the SEC getting 14 teams in is just the start. Eventually the Big10, ACC, SEC, all will be getting double digit teams(or close to it) in every year.

But we have a super cool playoff in football now...

Two things can be correct. SEC was really good this season and it would be for not iff The only ACC team left in field won the tournament. If it was any team but Duke I would say SEC has nothing to worry about but good heavens they got 5* player all over the court and a couple sitting on the bench dem boys are good.as well.


In the End I hope Tennessee wins it all but if not hope i team from another conference wins but that's me. I've never been a Conference Pride person. I have my TENNESSEE Vols flags planted in my yard. Some individuals plant a SEC flag. .

North Carolina will bounce back, but I’m not sure that we’ll see schools like Wake, Georgia Tech...ever be consistently good again, now that the SEC has realized it’s ok to be good in other sports besides football.
The only reason I say the SEC, is because I feel like they are the ACC’s biggest competition as far as recruiting, geographically.

The thing that I don’t like is there are zero Big East teams.
I’m a Big East basketball fan from way back and college basketball needs to find a way to get that conference and schools, the exposure it needs.
College basketball is better when the ACC and Big East are legit.

True.. North Carolina is a big recruiting grounds for Tennessee. We luckily got coach TV for baseball and hopefully we fill the case for National Championship trophies. CKC looks like she is bringing the Lady Vols back to the glory days, thank goodness. The Deacon has Tennessee basketball flying high, just hope when he retires AD Danny White finds a great replacement. CJH is taking care of football very well.

Plus all the other sport are striving at the moment. The only Sport I believe gets hurt by adding Texas and Oklahoma Softball. That Oklahoma team is a juggernaut.
