You say that you expect them to lose a game before every series and it never happens.
It’s happening 162-0
I am torn in regards to the Dodgers. I kind of want them to lose and underachieve because they have so much “gold” but I also kinda want them to go 162-0 and make a mockery out of MLB’s economic system. Maybe finally then MLB will do something. You can’t have a team spending well over $300mill on payroll while half the league is under $150 mill, and several are under 100 mill. Every other professional sport prevents this kind of thing from happening and there’s a reason for that

I don’t know that the Braves will go to the playoffs this year but don’t let a winless series vs the Dodgers bother you. It’s a terribly imbalanced playing field

Braves got swept by the Padres as well. Braves Payroll is higher than the Padres.

Braves are struggling doesn't matter what the payrolls are...

Braves are indeed struggling but no, the payroll does matter. Doesn’t mean that the standings will exactly reflect payroll in Oct but it does matter. Take $200 million off the Dodgers and they’re not the same undefeated team

I used to say “I’ve been with the Braves thru thin and Tanner.” Lol

I remember when Craig McMurtry was gonna be the great savior. And I85 Pascual Perez. I had a baseball I got signed at Northgate Mall by Horner, Chambliss, Washington, Hubbard and Murphy.

Listened to the Cards sweep us on the radio in the NLCS because we didn’t have cable yet and couldn’t watch it. Cried my eyes out at the end of game four.

I too watched a ton of losses in person before I ever got to celebrate a win. Indeed there’s a huge bandwagon full of Braves fans. But I was there to charge them admission when they got on. lol

That hot summer day in my early-teens when Bob Horner hit 4 HRs against my Expos was a riot at our house. Braves on TBS, my brother, the Braves fan (fav: Dale Murphy) and me, the Expos fan (fav: Tim Raines) keeping score on the family room floor.

Him cheering every HR, me cheering the victory. We were both bragging that afternoon!

Football has a Salary Cap but it's funny that it's always basically the same teams at the top every year. Occasionally a lower tier team gets lucky and makes playoffs.

NBA has a salary cap but it's funny that it's the same teams playing for the Title or in playoffs every year.

Players in MLB aren't playing 162 games a year for chump change, when NBA players make millions for playing only 82 games and NFL players making millions for playing only 17 games plus playoffs... $200 million dollar salary cap in MLB is $8 million per player on a 25 man roster.its not happening ..

Good times!

It's hard enough to get young kids interested into having a Baseball career over Football and Basketball these days in America. You slap a cap on MLB then no kids will chose a crappy salary over the 50 or 60 million a year they could possibly make in the other two sports. I want Baseball to be the top sport again but reducing pay will help kill it worse than the overblown salaries now.

I understand the differing opinions on the topic, but the way I see it is, my teams have the same opportunity to spend, they just can’t/won’t.
I have zero issues with heavy hitters spending big money in professional sports.
College athletics is a whole ‘nother issue...

Vols have already lost out on 3 or 4 targets in Basketball due to other teams offering more cash. You and I agree on this topic about college sports ...

To be honest, I’m (pleasantly) surprised that Barnes has been so successful in the NIL era.
I really thought he was going to be one to not buy in and give major pushback.
🤷‍♂️
