Umpires suck. Baseball Football all across the sports spectrum. No accountability.

Agreed...and I'm right there with you. But, I kinda equate it to complaining about Politicians...THEY ALL SUCK, too! But...until BETTER people take on the task...only certain "types' go that route.

What do you think is the make-up of most Umpires/Referees? Poor performing athletes? Those who never got chosen for kickball? Can't find a job doing anything else? Or...so in LOVE with the sport they want to make a positive difference?

I'm afraid the last one is few and far between...just my opinion...

I always looked forward to each TV episode of Starsky & Hutch (ABC) back in the 70s.
I liked the character Huggy Bear the informant played by Antonio Fargas. So hip.

Agreed. That is ridiculous when reseller tickets are much less than standard admission. Danny White is getting a little greedy.

I was asked to be an umpire one time when my son was playing a little league game.
I was calling plays at 1st & 2nd base. It was fun but I wouldn't do it for a living.

Umpiring is much harder than it looks…. I umpired in college one season and it was a lot of fun. The pitchers loved me because my strike zone was HUGE—-the hitters not so much!
