I think this is one case where the NCAA will over penalize to show they have some teeth left, and how this largely came to the public eye

Not anymore. Not sure when it went south but remember the night of the draft, when the bong mask pic was leaked, the stepfather was initially accused of releasing it.

I don't know how the relationship was during Laremy's early years at Ole Miss but something had to happen for the stepfather to come out throwing darts recently.

The more I think about this I have to wonder if the step-Dad was promised money that was never delivered. He probably did his part in getting the kid to Ole Miss only then to be Hoo-dood. Ole Miss can say we have no idea what he is talking about and get off Scot free.

The NCAA doesn't give two craps about Ole Miss. This is the way it works. When you look at history of SEC west the Mississippi schools are typically at bottom. Much like Vandy and Kentucky in east. Those 4 schools get no leniency and will be made an example of in order to protect the big boys.

Ole Miss is going to return to irrelevance and no one will care because it is the status quo.

I think it looks bad that Chris Kiffin is still on the Ole Miss staff. He was obviously aware that Tunsil and his stepdad were on the take for extra benefits. I think the NCAA committee on infractions takes that into account as well as the fact that Tunsil played the last 6 games of last season after Ole Miss claims to have concluded an internal investigation. I think there will definitely be some additional scholarships taken away from what they have already self imposed. There could be a one year bowl ban as well.

The thing that irks me most about Freeze is how he uses his religious faith as a deflective shield. Whenever questioned about the ethics or integrity of his program he will always circle back around to prayer or faith.
