Oline and WR coaches

As long as we keep Banks, I'm good. People can say what they want, but we don't go 10-3 if our defense didn't bail us out. He could very well get a HC job, but I hope we keep him. He's the best DC we have had in a while.

I've seen multiple people say that Banks may get a HC job.

My question is honestly, uh-where?

Think most places have already filled their holes even in the G5 ranks have they not?

Don't really see Banks stepping way down in levels and taking a huge pay cut I'm sure he could probably get a D3 job or something where he is the HC and gets to line the field with chalk and paint the end zones before the games for $175 k/yr

This isn't a marriage. It's a business. When there are weak links in the business you have to shore them up. Ellarbee, Pope and Martinez are liabilities.
Joe Moore Award finalist, too rated corner in the SEC. Those don't sound like liabilities. But apparently you were still drunk. Some of yall can't hold your liquor and probably need to switch to wine coolers.

We need a new OC.I don't care what anyone says....Anyone..... This run up the middle and a wr screen pass crap has got to go. There is ZERO creativity in play calling.

Ffs last night was pathetic.
Run up the middle. hurry run up to the line get set. Playaction pass slant or all out 80 yard bomb. Incomplete. Hurry up run up to the line get set. wr screen/shovel pass. Three in out…

This all depends on how money Heupel is allotted to get a coach. Does he have a blank check? Do we have any big money that will say hey go get who you need? I don’t think we do. I think it will either be a promotion from within or retain them both.

But lets say for arguments sake, Heupel gets the blank check and can go get who he wants.

WR coach- laugh all you want but go to Columbus and make an offer to Hartline he can’t refuse. He’ll give him the WR coach and OC job. He is an elite recruiter and developer of talent. He is working under Kelly so he knows offense.

Another potential WR coach, go to Texas and offer Chris Jackson.

OL coach: offer Searels at UGA. They always get the big uglies. Go offer Oregon, Army, TX and even OSU OL coaches.

Forget goin to the small schools. Hi make big boy offers to the big schools. They may turn you down but at least you tried. Money talks.

But Inhave zero faith Heupel will make any changes.

Easy to get those accolades against miss st, KY, Oklahoma, NCST, etc. Jermod is who he is in spite of Martinez not because of him. The rest of the secondary is slow and Gibson is regressing. Who on that line is ellarbee's guy? None of them. The secondary got absolutely torched by the two passing attacks that could threaten it. Maybe you should stop your drinking.

Hartline would be a good hire as wr coach/oc give him the oc job as a promotion. Even though heupel runs the offense. Give hartline the ability to create some new passing formations and routes to get the WRs open they used at OSU. Plus he can recruit (eye for talent) the best of the best at the position.

Gibson isn’t regressing

They’re probably all due raises because the team made the playoff.
And I can definitely think of worse things to get a bonus for.
I mean, they SHOULD get raises for making the playoffs. Wouldn’t you expect a raise if your department at work finished the year in the very top performing ones?
we just made a playoff game for the first time EVER.

Elarbee, Hazle and Martinez are below average - Elarbee is just plain bad - no development of the Oline at all.
Martinez would be the most likely one to go but that would be of his own choosing if he did go. Gibson and McCoy were pretty good imo for young cbs this year.

Elarbee for better or worse is the most entrenched guy on the offensive staff imo. Joey I doubt goes anywhere either since Heupel is calling most the offense. Joey works closely with Nico and I doubt they make a change there.

If Banks gets another job it probably blows up the entire defensive staff anyways.

Steve Addazio and Zach Smith. They come from a tree of a coach that is despised by our fanbase, but are two guys that come from programs with championship pedigree that know what type of discipline and fire need to be instilled in the players to build a championship program. They’re elite recruiters and developers of talent at their positions as well. With the way Smith was fired at Ohio State it’s not likely that happens, but it would be a great hire. The issue we’re going to have with finding a WR coach is any great one isn’t going to want to develop players in this system because what we run doesn’t prepare players to play in the NFL. At some point Heupel is going to have to run tighter splits so receivers will at least have the real estate to threaten a defense with the entire route tree
Zach Smith. The guy fired for domestic abuse then stalked his ex violating a protective order and going to jail for it? Also supposedly had substance abuse issues. That guy is who you want to bring in?

If you’re going to make changes, make changes with an open wallet and go get someone worth a damn as a coach and a human being too. Parents see through BS, they don’t want their kid around a POS like that guy.

I mean I would give my left kidney to get him here but that’s not going to happen. Ohio State will match anything we offer and he’s a former player there so he will give them an opportunity to match any offer; he will get a head coach gig somewhere.

Did you forget what things were like before CJH got here? We were losing to Ga State and BYU. Some of yall are like DV victims. Yall get in a good relationship and it's too boring, not enough chaos. So yall do 1 of 2 things, create chaos or go back to someone that gives you the chaos that you're seeking. There's no need to change coaches, the difference is players. An honest assessment of rosters for OSU and TN tells you all you need to know.
Ahh yes the ol Rodger explanation. Let’s use that another 8 or 18 years.

I am well aware of Elarbee being “entrenched” because he is Heupel’s boy. Nevertheless, Elarbee is just plain bad - there has been very little development within the Oline ranks - the Oline has gotten progressively worse over the past 4 years. Heupel is going to have to make some tough choices if he wants the program to progress further. But I have my doubts as to whether Heupel will do that. Time will tell.

You’d think.
But I read somewhere that Ellarbee and CJH are best friends and so are their wives. So…

Pope is not cut out for the job. Dude is too young and inexperienced at this point.
Completely unrealistic dream scenario: we fire Halzle and Pope and make Hartline from OSU the OC/wr coach. Go get an up-and-comer qb coach from G5.
