Omaha trip!

Went to 1st 8 games last year. Bought tickets a couple of months earlier as soon as they went on sale at NCAA office. I’m thinking only outfield was available. All outfield seats are in the sun until 6-6:30 Temps were low to mid 90s every day. Other than renting in a tailgating lot, you can park about a 10-15 minute walk for about $15 a day. Bar/restaurants are right outside the gates but the 2nd game crowd has usually packed it out waiting for gates to open for their late game. Very loud and happy. Accommodations are full around the downtown area so better have a room in advance.
Tickets are being bought and sold around the stadium but you might get lucky from a fan who bought tickets to games their team is not playing. We thought the Vols would be there but didn’t know which games, so we bought for all 8 games so we could see every team twice. Would never do that again. The temps were almost unbearable so after each game we were looking for somewhere cool. Got there 10:30 or 11:00 each morning and got back to Airbnb around 9 each night.
My advice is pick what games you want to see, overpay and enjoy the games Tenn plays. Watch all other games in the cool of your room or a sports bar. If you can get under the awning seats, there iis always a breeze Pulling through, but be prepared to pay.

Also a note to my experience above. I believe each ticket averaged about $40-$45 each form the NCAA website. There were 5 of us going to 1st 8 games and 3 bought tickets through semi finals, which they sold for a slight profit. They also had seen all they wanted with the heat and no Vols to root for. First experience and learned a lot. Locals said it is almost always hot the CWS week. Downtown streets have different traffic patterns based on times of the day. Many of the local restaurants away from the downtown area were closed at 9:00 pm. Surprising considering how big a town it is.

$75 per ticket for lowers purchased from UT
Any idea when we hear back from UT? I’m not expecting to get them with only 300-350 being available given my donor rank but would be nice to hear either way. I miss the “old days” of season ticket holders automatically receiving the right to purchase them regardless of donor rank. I had the email in my inbox to purchase tix outright, before I even got out of LNS from the 2021 Supers. I had them in the que and didn’t pull the trigger; regretted it ever since. Now it’s all gone to overall donor rank, regardless of your support or lack of for baseball.

Likewise, enjoyed the company and we had a great time. He (and I) are still recovering this morning after a big night. He asked yesterday what are we supposed to watch on tv now since there’s no college baseball until Friday lol.
