Rank these possible events in the 2011 college football season.

1. A team outside of the SEC wins the National Championship Game.

2. Texas wins the Big XII (or Big X. Whatever.)

3. USC wins 10 games.

4. An SEC East team wins the regular season SEC Championship.

5. Ohio State wins the Big 10 (or Big 12. Once again, whatever.)

Thought this would make for some good arguments. Here's my take:

1. A team outside of the SEC wins the National Championship Game.

2. Ohio State wins the Big 10.

3. Texas wins the Big XII.

4. USC wins 10 games.

5. An SEC East team wins the regular season SEC championship.

I don't see any of the last 3 options having much of a chance of happening. Others may disagree.

10. People start respecting Oregon fans.

How'd I do? :)

They do have one less game this season. They didn't schedule Hawaii this year.

True, but outside of the games at Arizona State and Oregon, there's not a game on the schedule they shouldn't expect to win. None of the home games, with the possible exception of Utah, should even be close.

Are you forgetting their home game against Stanford, or do you think they'll easily handle them?

the lack of depth is going to hurt them once again. also we never know how the motivation issue will work. i do expect the pac-10 to be pretty mediocre once again though.

stanford could go anywhere from 11-0 to 5-7. all depends on that oline and luck being 100% the entire year. their receiving corps stink and the D shouldn't be that great either.

But for typically incompetent PAC 10 officiating/timekeeping, they beat them in Palo Alto last year. USC should beat them this year.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Harbaugh's departure has the same effect on Stanford that Brian Kelly's leaving had on Cincinnati.

promoting the assistant to head coach thought to have the least to do with the offense's success generally isn't a recipe for a great coaching hire. the best staff went to the 49ers. luck is as good as advertised though so they might have another year in them. i fully expect them to go back to suckitude after that.

1. A team outside of the SEC wins the National Championship Game. I've still got Alabama over Oklahoma, but the Sooners have a fantastic team. Plus, Oregon, Boise State if they make it, etc.

2. USC wins 10 games. 9-3, with losses @ASU, Stanford, @Oregon.

3. Texas wins the Big XII (or Big X. Whatever.) Oklahoma will go 12-0.

4. An SEC East team wins the regular season SEC Championship. Georgia/SC are both good teams...but no.

5. Ohio State wins the Big 10 (or Big 12. Once again, whatever.) 8-4 looks likely for them right now. I'd say no.

USC will not win 10 games until they learn to play defense. Replace old man Kiffin and they will be pretty good.
