On some of the rankings....

I am on the Kool-aid to Eric. But a dose of good ole realty dosen't hurt sometime either.

We have 22 commits and only 4 are OL or Interior DL. I hope Stone is in, and a few more for that matter..

IMO, believe it or not, some of these kids we are excited about today, may be on the outside looking in on NSD.. If some of our target lineman come aboard, You can almost guarentee it..

GBO and CDD

The man is doing a bang up job at this point. This class was ready to fall apart. He's holding it together remarkably better than I thought he could.

This is the first step to winning over those of us in the shadows. Trust me. I've been pissed for at least a week. I'm guessing that's where Sab and LV are.

This is why I really want James Stone. He has the talent and an awesome head on his shoulders.

I seen where he didnt like Kiffin and Ed O but he really likes Dooley. His coach says he believes Tenn is out in front of Bama for him.

I have noticed that his targets are smart. That is important. NuKeese couldn't get on the field too much b/c he couldn't figure out the already dumbed down offense we threw at Crompton.

On the rankings, I know they aren't important, but it feels good to be there after what happened 2 weeks ago!

Exactly. All the speed in the world is no good if you can't make the grades or stay out of trouble and be on the team.

How can you possibly come to those conclusions by watching a high school highlight tape?

I will prob. get some hate for this, but I agree with everything you said. I love Dooley's attitude and I think he will do great things, but I am far from saying he is a top notch recruiter for UT. There is just not enough evidence to say he is bringing in top notch player makers. All that remains to be seen.

Nothing about what is going on right now is any indication positive or negative about future recruiting under Coach Derek Dooley. You can think whatever you want about this class, good or bad, it has nothing at all to do with what could happen next year.

There is simply no way possible to tell what can be accomplished with this staff especially considering the staff is not even yet assembled.

I feel we will be hard pressed to recruit more "playmakers" than the national powers initially under Dooley. They are the national powers for a reason. So, I ask all older Vol Fans (I am 34), do you remember a time when UT had one of the best roster in the SEC/Country as a whole? From top to bottom, during what era were the Vols the best team before kickoff most of the time? Was there a time when the Reggie Bush type recruit's had UT on there list as a must visit? One particular 5-year stretch comes to mind, but I can't mention that coach or I may be banned from this site! Feedback anyone??

Keep in mind that these coaches use tools that none of us probably have access to. Ratings services and Rivals videos is only a piece. That is why the relationships with high school coaches is important. Those inroads give us insight into the type of player, team mate and leader these recruits are. Just like a few of these new names we are learning about from DD. They are players referred by other coaches who are friends of DD. Networking...
