I do wish we had held on to a couple of the guys already committed that we lost, however, recruiting relationships are built over years...not two months. To think the new staff is going to show up on a kids steps and tear down the walls of a relationship he has had with a school/recruiter, and vault us to the top is asinine. We will have a few late surprises, but we are dealing with kids and their emotions(a lot of these kids have forged father like mentor relationships with their recruiters), and that goes a long way...most kids will not be swayed by a relationship that is two months new...next year's class will be the measuring stick-assuming we don't lose any of our coaches after next season.

I'm sometimes glad that I live in Memphis so I don't have to hear some of the garbage spewed on the radio in Knoxville. I get to hear Drake and Zeke spew garbage here, but at least they're funny.

Anyway, I'm glad Lane is taking his time with the coaching staff. Time landed Monte and Coach O, right? And with the coaching change, we lost some recruits, but we're still #17 in the nation with the strong ability to surge ahead of that right at the beginning of next month.

In short, I'm happy for everything that's going on, even if all we get is some HUGE OL's and some strong, blazing fast LB's this year. Oh yeah, and the best all-purpose running back in the nation.

I have a feeling that when our recruiting class is done, these kids will have us in the national picture in 4 years. I'm committed, and I hope all of these WR's commit as well. I would take a DT or 2 still though...

J/K...guys, guys...I've done some thinking about the situation our beloved program is in and have determined that just because we don't have THAT many "big" names on our commit list doesn't mean that the class is a bad one. Look at Utah. They're the Sugar Bowl Champs...and they might have a handful of 4 star recruits and they probably weren't the so-called "big" named 4 stars. But the point is as long as the size and athleticism is present and they have a good head on their shoulders you can make a star out of them. The question that Rivals/Scout/ESPN don't have on these kids is "are they a football player or an athlete?" Because we all know that being a great football player is more than having the physical stats...it's having all the intangibles like heart, passion, will to succeed, and composure...just to name a few. So don't get caught up in rankings ands "big" names...I think this class HAS class because they stayed with us during the tough times and those are the guys I want wearing that Orange for the next couple of autumns. go vols
