It should maybe be a sports weekend. Baseball though, is a pastime. Real sports like checkers or basketweaving may be included. Or if the weather is like last year, maybe hockey. But baseball?

Why are you even here?

Sorry. My son and my nephew were looking at VN on my profile. I wouldn't let my son make one because I was afraid he would say something stupid. Guess the joke was on me. No were not b-ball fans but I'm gonna make them go to a game with me this year as punishment. I hate the negative people on here as much as anybody. And before anybody gets p.c. on me I don't mean to imply Baseball is a punishment, but for 2 boys that hate it and for this offense, it's fitting I think.

I agree w/ the OP. Every year when they announce the O&W game I go look at the baseball schedule to see if they have a game the same day. I remember back a few years ago they actually did this, I went to both & really enjoyed it. I think it would be a great thing for the AD to arrange.

Am I the only person here who doesn't have a wild fascination with the Orange and White game? Tennessee always wins, and the boards always panic because player x had a bad day after a few weeks of spring practice. Never mind that they haven't played a real game in months and won't play a real game for another few months. I'd much rather watch a regular season baseball game on a spring Saturday than a football team playing against itself. I'll hang up and wait for someone to tell me I'm not a true fan.

I have never liked the event. No matter what was posted earlier, this is not a real game. Fans can't root for a particular team. No one learns anything about the team. The coaches likely hate it. The lines are too long for autographs if you bring your kid.

However, College baseball is by far a better event. Actual competition.

My love for UT baseball greatly exceeds any real concern about meaningless spring football scrimmages and football recruiting.
