Haha well both my parents went to UT and that is how I was raised. Moved to Kentucky so UK became the most viable option for college. I will never pull for UK over UT but otherwise I am pulling for UK and follow their sports pretty closely (not as closely as UT). It's hard not to support the university that you attend.
This include basketball?
I still don't see how you can even have UK as a secondary team. Even if I moved to Lexington I'd never root for UK.
I don't see much difference between one and done and turning pro. I rather see an athlete turn pro than waste one semester on basket weaving classes.
Nothing will perfectly solve the issue, but the baseball rule is better than the rule currently put in place for basketball.
Ditto. I think an MLB-style rule would be great. Especially since the NBA already has a functioning "scout" league.
My beef is more in line with the traditional argument, namely, why should a HS kid good enough to play in the NBA be denied a shot? There are a handful of kids every year good enough when they're 18 to play in the NBA. It's not like the NFL, where the players need to keep developing for another three or four years just to have a chance.
Also, taking scholarship money, wherever it may come from and giving it to a kid who is only going to work just hard enough to stay academically eligible for two terms then bolt makes a bit of a mockery of education.
