What a way to derail a thread...when someone is revered as a legend and widely considered one of the greatest ever at his craft, kind of hard to group him with a one hit wonder.
Technically speaking yes..."All Along The Watchtower" was his only top 40 hit but he is far from a one hit wonder.
His catalog is timeless.
How is it thread derail? You even said it yourself, technically he did have one hit. Whether he is or isn't has been discussed by music writers for years. I think it's interesting how few of his songs and albums were popular at the time yet he is revered today. Besides it makes things a lot interesting than "Ice ice baby" and "I touch myself".What a way to derail a thread...when someone is revered as a legend and widely considered one of the greatest ever at his craft, kind of hard to group him with a one hit wonder.

I see what you are saying but it just isn't right.
What most people define as a "One hit wonder" is an act that get mass radio play for one song and then fades into oblivion.
Hendrix was relevant from his debut until his death, about a 4 year span, not exactly fading into oblivion.
