One thing that I don't understand about Men's March Madness

Then you lessen the chances of upsets by giving a team a home game. This tournament needs to be as neutral as possible. Neutral fans able to attend is one of the advantages of the underdog. You idea is 4 teams. The next person wants the top 8. That seeding process is subjective anyway.
Yeah you do and the upsets are exciting for sure. You’d think the powers that be want the better seeds playing later so I’m surprised they haven’t tried it. Top 8 seeds? You can’t do that.

If you like pure basketball, defense, and playing below the rim, the women’s game has it all.
I like defensive struggles in all sports.
I’d take a 6 to 3 football game, a 1-0 baseball game and a 45-50 basketball game any day.
120-109 NBA games suck because they are to lazy to defend. Just make a highlight reel with 3 pointers and dunks with the defender running the other direction.
I just cant enjoy watching basketball that reaches a 44-4 half time score…

As stated by several posters it was set up this way at the beginning because women's BB did not have a big fan following and early games would have been a financial disaster if they were at neutral sites. No one wanted to host them and TV did not want to televise it.

Things have changed now so it may be time to go to the neutral sites. You think the teams that have to go a higher seeds home court to play the early games think its fair? Only the home team likes it.
