Just stopping by to say hello and hope (really hope) we can keep it competitive next Saturday. We know the potential gauntlet y’all can be and we realize the uphill battle this fight will likely be. With that said, I’m praying for a clean, well played game with zero injuries. I understand the dislike for many of actual UVA grads. Please know, the Virginia natives/fans (not in NOVA) that DIDN’T go to the school are typically normal, blue collar folks and at the end of the day there are more of us than them.

Good luck and God bless.

Having lived both north of Richmond (far from rich) and down in the Hampton Roads area, I can attest there are plenty of really good people in Virginia.

Though, come to think of it, I never met a UVa grad. Not a single one. Heh.

If you're traveling down to the game, hope you have a safe trip, and a blast while in Nashville. All except during the game. Best I can hope for you there is that we put the Cavs out of their misery early so the rest is just a punch-drunk haze.

Go Vols!

I’m from Roanoke, VA but admit I despise both UVA and VA Tech. I heard more about VA Tech except in the early 80s when UVA had a great basketball program led by Ralph Sampson. Plus I have some high school friends that ran their mouth about UVA which intensified my disdain for UVA.

Safe travels if you go to game.

Do you still live in Roanoke?

Welcome, I personally always enjoy opposing teams fans that come through and can have good conversations about the games and the season. Good luck in 11 of your games this season. Maybe we’ll be in the same conference one day soon.

One of my best friends since 2nd grade went to UVA before going to Stanford Law. Used to drive up to Charlottesville to visit while at UT…that’s a gorgeous campus and great town.

If you make the trip to Nashville, I expect you’ll have a great time and be treated well.

Welcome, friend, and thanks for the comments. We wish the same for the game. Had to laugh at the distinction you made between normal UVA fans and NOVA grads. I lived in the Commonwealth for several years…in the NOVA milieu. And I recall all the drives I had through your beautiful state getting to and from my home in middle TN back in the day. I get what you mean. I trust our fans in Nashville will welcome all UVA fans at the game and give them all our Tennessee best hospitality.

Every state university divides their fans between people who went to the school, and people who went to Walmart to get the t shirt and shower shoes to legally enter McDonalds. It’s just funnier at a place like UVA that pretends to be the Stanford of the South.

I honestly have no problem with UVA in any sport. We haven’t played you all very much so there isn’t much reason to dislike you and you are far from one of the more annoying fanbases. Good luck next Saturday, but I hope you lose by 50.

Plenty of good folk in Virginia. Plenty of good bluegrass in Virginia. Hope your bunch has a clean, injury free Saturday as well. I hope we win by 50 but as for the rest of your season, I hope it goes well.

Great choice of user name! I’ll be at the game hoping to see Tennessee mercilessly pummel UVA into the ground (with no injuries). But I hope the rest of yalls season goes well. Go Vols!
