.....knows what is really going on with this HC search. The sheer fact that all of these supposed leaks/rumors/potential "deals" behind the scenes are making a mockery of the University of Tennessee. I think many fans believe the sky is falling. Lets face it, Gruden would have been a rock star hire in just name alone. We as fans dont know if he could really win in the SEC. I think there is a chance that a HR hire could come out of this. Hart has been to this dance before, and has turned programs around as far as hires are concerned. I think the fan base needs to be patient and not bash the man until we see our new HC at the podium in a couple of weeks.

No way man without Gruden we're doomed to at least 15 more years of irrelevance. Fire Hart we need a Tennessee guy.

What programs has Hart turned around ? There are others that know what is happening. Just may not be on this board.

Amazing there are 3 Likes. Not sure where Hart has ever hired a coach except for East Carolina, not exactly big time football. Hart scares me to death.

Being a little dramatic there, don't you think? You honestly think these same things wouldn't be going on at other programs who might be courting an extremely high profile coach? We tried, just as we should have, but don't act like just because he said no that it is "making a mockery of UT". Good grief.

I think hart hired a bunch of the coaches at FSU in other sports. Could be wrong, but im right! Lol

Is Hart the one who made Jimbo Fisher "Head coach in waiting" while Bobby was being shown the door by, again, Hart? Not that I approve of Jimbo Fisher at UT, but he hasn't exactly been "Dooleyish" for Fl St.

The good thing is that it really doesn't take a genius to hire a competent coach. Pick someone that took a bad team and made them good, or a good team and made them great. This simple concept would eliminate us from hiring the Dooleys of the world again.

He still scares me because he tried so hard to retain Dooley until he just had to fire him. If he had pulled trigger after the Missouri game I think we would have had a chance in the Vandy game

Has anyone answered the question as to whom Hart has hired and which program he has turned around. I am still giving the guy the benefit of the doubt, but history isn't exactly on his side. I guess we will see. Either way, the suspense is killing me.

Dave Hart CLEARLY doesn't know what he's doing. I mean, just look at all the time he's had to go get a coach and he still hasn't done it. And on top of that, he screws things up - BIGTIME.

I heard Jon Gruden was on his knees begging for the job and even volunteered to work for free, but Hart just refused, saying "Roll Tide, b!@$h"

FIRE HIM NOW!!! We have so many qualified football geniuses on Volnation.com that can easily do his job and coach our football team at the same time. In fact, fire Cheek too because he clearly does not realize these problems.

I'm not sure anymore. I thought the silence over past two weeks was good but after yesterday I wonder what's been going on. If Gruden was a "fantasy" which I don't believe then why did it take two weeks to find that out? That statement seemed to be a shot at UTAD. it was too demeaning to be taken on face value.
