Open practice Saturday?

True, but it is more relevant to the success of our team. That is all I was stating.

I doubt you'll find one person who will argue for Vegas Davis, Elgrace Wilborn, or Stanley Asumnu over Hubbs. I could make a case for Haislip, but at the same age, Hubbs is, as you said, a more polished finisher. Haislip was just a freak athlete who had to grow into his body.

Saturday practice was just running through different drills. Who impressed me was Reese, Thompson, McRae, and Hubbs.

Reese looks like he has gained some size. Looked good around the basket....again that was just running drills.

When I saw Hubbs bouncing around Asunmu is who I thought about. He was definitely working hard.

McRae seemed effortless going through the drills. What impressed me was every single timeout/break he would stay out on the court and shoot 3's.

Thompson will be special. When they were running drills and finishing with inbound passes to the post, he was the only guard that would throw up lobs for oops. Has a smooth 3 pt shot. He is extremely tall though for pg. So, we will see how can handle the quick little guards.

He was working with the post guys through all the exercises. Not sure how much he will help at this year. There seems to be a log jam for back up minutes at the 4.

This literally is my only question with him, if he can defend opposing PGs we got a damn good one.

Might see 2 pgs on the floor next year when we see teams with the small quick pg. Maybe similar to Wall and Bledsoe at KY. I will be shocked if he's not a very good 3 pt shooter.

Just to note, he does hold the record for his HS in steals, so he obviously has good hands and knows how to get into passing lanes. But on the flip side, his high school is not that old either.

Interesting to see how the rotation plays out there. It would be good if AJ comes out of the gate being a solid backup at the 4. But if he isn't playing solid d, and contributing on the boards it has to be a 3 man battle. Reese/Chievous/Edwards

Working exclusively at the 4 from what I've seen....as Bravo said, he likely won't see many minutes this year, barring an injury. However I do think he could be a contributor next year, if we don't land looney, land looney and he may leave.

Would love see us go small some and uptempo next year since we won't have a whole lot in the post. Austin/Thompson/Hubbs/Richardson would be a very athletic 4 guard lineup.

That's good to know about the steals, hadn't heard that before. I definitely think we got a steal in Thompson, he's gonna be a good one.
