I bet Texas would offer Saban 10 million if that was what it took to get Him.

Heard this morning they were throwing the number 8 million out to Saban and it wouldn't cut it. He must really wanna stay in bama. I heard it on sportscenter so who knows what that's worth.

I think they will say two things. First, clearly Florida is lacking in offense and that the defensive secondary got exposed. Second, it takes time for a new head coach to install a new system and Jones is making good progress. Just give him a couple good recruiting classes to shore up the areas where the Vols need help and they will be back at the top of the SEC.

Yeah,He will. I think Franklin at Vandy will be in the top 5 for Texas as well.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

Texas wants to win! They will get a real winner.

I'd say their top 5 would be something like

1. Nick Saban
2. NFL Coach
3. Gruden (technically not NFL right now)
4. Muschamp
5. Peterson

2000 and 2006 where we played it too safe and allowed the referees to impact the outcome of the game. We outplayed you in both games and wound up just a bit short.

How can you say 2000?

Tennessee put a plan together that whipped florida with aj suggs at qb. That was a hell of a coaching job.

Staff earned a w thar day.

Offense failed in the red zone

Of course they will say "its a result of FL's poor play."....Heck, during halftime of the Western KY game, all Kevin Carter did was talk about our lack of offensive yards!!

And he was correct! UT, offensively, wasn't impressive at all during the WKU game but all most UT fans did was focus on the worst 5 plays in college history. That wasn't normal. That was a fluke.

Last week no one wanted to hear about UT's problems. Then when they get hammered everyone wants to panic.

Back to the OP, who cares? What difference does it make? The entire sports world could praise the Vols. ESPN could run it as their lead story. And people on here would still complain.

Texas might quietly make a run at Saban, but very quietly. They would not want to be embarrassed by him publicly turning them down. We won't hear about it unless the deal is already done.

fair enough...Our O was not great...But, statistically, we had short field the entire 1st half, and defensive td's, less time of possession, etc....Which typically leads to less yards...so i didn't really see Carter's point in worrying about the lack of offensive yardage under the given conditions....

Some of you guys are so irrational in your desire to see this happen that it's comical. No one, not even Texas, is going to pay a college coach 2 million more per year than the highest paid NFL coach is getting. That is never going to happen.
