OTOH I would rather see the orange pants back with the road unis AND the orange stripe back at home. I hate the all white road unis. The black shoes are cool though.(mikey01 @ Apr 21 said:AMEN...one of the best decisions Phillip ever made was trashing the orange pants. The second best decision was trashing the white pants with the 4 foot wide orange stripe down the side. The third best decision was going back to black shoes.
I think I'm the only person who liked the white shoes in '04. I would also like to see the same unis we had against UNLV. Those were sick.(MyBloodRunnethOrange @ Apr 22 said:OTOH I would rather see the orange pants back with the road unis AND the orange stripe back at home. I hate the all white road unis. Trust me, no visiting team has ever looked into the tunnel as the home team comes running out and said "Oh no! We're screwed! They're wearing different pants!!!!"
An old favorite of mind... Alabama, the Million Dollar Band and the Two Million Dollar Defensive Line(OldVol @ Apr 24 said:Those green jersies of Notre Dame's are pretty cool from time to time.
And, I liked the all orange on special occasions.
I agree, no team is going to be intimidated, but the small change can give the crowd an extra charge, which might get the team fired a little more and that in itself might make the difference in a close home game.
Although, when John was coach, I think he brought out the orange pants a couple of times and it played into the team being a little overwrought, and playing too tight. But, it was usually for Bama and we were usually the decided underdog in those days. It was hard to compete with the 'Best Team Money Could Buy.'
