I don't think there's anything to that rumor. Google it and 90%+ of the hits are on UT sites. The few I saw that weren't were from a UT fan posting on another site (Oregon). I don't think it was anything but a rumor. If it happened, it's hard to believe the TV guys wouldn't have noticed and mentioned it...

Someone indicated in another thread that Oregon's band did not even travel to the game. I know that I did not hear Rocky Top played ...but on a positive note - Oregon beat the crap out of Lame and Monte Kitten.

on the pregame show a caller asked if they were going to play. frank kesling, i mean Bob said that oregon called UT. they thought it might have been to get sheet music of rocky top.
