Incredibly dumb. I don't think Oregon will miss a beat with Bennett, though

They actually went cupcake for their OOC next season, Arkansas State, Fresno State and Tennessee Tech all travel to Autzen to start the season.

Is he the Scotty Hopson of his team? Good college player, no chance in the big leagues, but thinks he's a first rounder?

Wow. Might have grade issues

I'd be surprised. He already got a degree.

You'd think someone with a degree would be smarter than to go pro when they know they won't be drafted. Sounds like he doesn't think another year of college football will make him a better player or do anything for his draft stock. So in other words, I guess he doesn't really want to play football anymore.

Funny that he got a degree in marketing and business administration. He appears to be marketing himself as a moron that went pro even though he'll most likely go undrafted. Guess he's taking the Lane Kiffin approach where any publicity is good publicity. Nobody was going to notice him if he finished out his senior year like every other player who isn't good enough to go pro. They'll notice him now because of his WTF decision.

I think its the right decision. He has his degree and has done about as much as he can do with Oregons offense. It's not like Chip is going to install a pro style offense next season. He actually risks injury and limiting his exposure by coming back.

Anyone remember that L'ville RB a few years ago. He came back (after he coulda gone pro) and ended up breaking his leg vs UK.

Anyway, I wouldnt risk it.

Yep, I do remember that. Luckily Bush has done rather well for himself in the league.

I pretty much agree with the consensus that it is a mistake for Thomas to go pro. He is a system QB---I don't see him being a legit pro quarterback prospect at the next level.

If that's the case and he has already graduated, what does it hurt for him to enter the NFL draft? Spending another year in Oregon's spread offense won't help his draft stock.

It's still another year to play football on one of the better teams in the country. He obviously enjoyed it at some point to make it to that level. If you're not going to make it as a pro, why forfeit your last year of football? There will probably be a point in his life where he wishes he was still playing football and he may have just given up a year(if he doesn't make a roster). Plus, he has his degree which means he could take a lighter load and bang a bunch of chicks on campus while being the big man on campus. Maybe he's not like that but even if he's 1/4 of that, I wouldn't pass up a light school load while having fun with the chickies.

He must really need the cash.
He could be used in certain packages like Dennis Dixon & Pat White, but he isn't built to take a beating. Just like them.

I was hoping he would come back cause I want Oregon to win the PAC & they present the biggest threat to USC.

One dude I wish would went pro is Jarvis Jones at Georgia. Seems like he woulda went with all the neck trouble he had I wouldn't risk getting injured playing for free.
