Hope the sucker punch was worth it. His senior season is over and ESPN's Todd McShay said he has gotten word from a bunch of NFL coaches and general managers that he most likely won't be drafted. 8 attempts for -5 yards was bad enough but this incident just cost him everything. No senior season. No NFL career. Wouldn't be surprised if he gives up on getting his degree. What an idiot.

He was probably a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick and will now probably go undrafted. He may have just altered the course of the rest of his life with that idiotic decision.

He's a thug anyways. He barely made it back on the team after he was suspended indefinitely in the off season. If he was so frustrated he should have taken it out by busting a good run, something that would actually hurt Boise and help his team but instead he punched a guy after he had sucked the whole game. See you later Blount

I admit I wanted him suspended for the season or kicked off the team but I almost feel bad for him. I guess it's the price he has to pay for making that mistake. I almost hope someone drafts him late or signs him as an undrafted free agent. I think Michael Vick getting a second chance in the NFL after what he did is far more disgusting. Michael Vick is one human being I will never feel bad for.... I don't care what happens to him.

Let this be a lesson to every hot-headed student athlete in America. The standard's been set for this season. Resort to violence at your own risk.

I am in no way a proponent of Anger management classes.

But with a graduate certificate of a completed program. Maybe he will be drafted. If not he can always walk on.

We have become such a anal retentive society that we are willing to run someones life for a moment of not being politically correct. However violent the incident was I just can not get behind the theory that his life should be over.

Well it's his fault. Most of us don't have the luxury of playing in the NFL. I'd rather work a few months a year and make a 6 or 7 figure salary. That's not an option for me. It's not that his life is over, it's just that he isn't going to make easy money. He isn't owed a 6 or 7 figure salary. People all over the country work for less than 30,000 a year. Such is life and it looks like that's the life style he will live. No chugging bottles of Petrone in the clubs for him.

It's just a phrase. Anyway you look at it, he put out a terrible display that was bad for Oregon, Chip Kelly, the president of that university, the Pac10, and they're makin sure it won't happen again. I'd say this is a pretty good message to all football players 'DON'T DO THIS.'

On what planet does punching some guy's lights out fall under the heading of 'politically incorrect'? Maybe I misunderstood you.

What happened to the good ol days when you could punch someone out????? I think he should be punished but a year is a little severe and the other punk got what he deserved. I can't stand all that punk trash talking.

Here's what I think. What Imus said about the Rutgers bball players was 'politically incorrect', it offended some and he paid a price for it - a steep price for a few misguided words. What this kid did last night is called assault. Two very different things. But that's the world I live in.

you're crazy if you think NFL teams won't draft him because of this. Leonard Little is still there right?

Blount talked trash first. He said that Oregon was going to give Boise State an a** whooping. Did Blount deserved to get knocked out before the game then?

Lawrence Phillips, Cecil Collins, Chris Henry, Christian and Jason Peter, DeAngelo Hall,... I laugh when people talk about "character issues" costing a guy a shot at the NFL. If he could play and help a team win games, GMs would be lobbying The Governator to commute Charles Manson's sentence.

I was just going by what Todd McShay said. He spoke with coaches and general managers. They said a mixture of being out of shape, poor work ethic, skipping classes, and poor performance against Boise has basically dropped his stock to the point of going undrafted. You throw in going on a rampage and that's that. Not to mention, missing a season didn't work out for Mike Williams or Maurice Clarrette. I highly doubt it's going to work out for Blount. We'll see.

lol @ the notion that he won't get drafted or get a shot - Albert Haynesworth freakin' stepped on a guys head with his kleets - freaking Miami/FIU brawl had some guys doing things 10x worse than what Blount did and several of those Miami players - who were considered thugs - went on as well.

yep. :boxing2:

Haha. Fair enough then. I think if anyone of us were Hout, it would have been hard for us to keep our mouth shut. Hout, a defensive player just got done shutting down the guy who said he was going to whoop their a**. I would probably say something or laugh at them also. What I wouldn't expect is for them to punch me in the face. I mean, the game was over. Blount had his chance to give Boise State their a** whooping and he didn't. He didn't need to go swinging at the guy. Just my opinion... I mean, it's not like this was random people talking crap at a bar. You talk trash in football and if you can't back it up during the game then it's your problem. Now losing his senior season is his problem. :p

You guys are talking about proven NFL players getting a second change in the NFL. Blount just rushed for -5 yards not only at the college level but against a WAC opponent. Players like Albert Haynesworth, Leonard Little, Ray Lewis, Jamaal Lewis, Michael Vick, Marvin Harrison etc. have shown they can compete at the pro level. I would say that's a big difference. Blount has been in trouble before for showing up out of shape and skipping class. He isn't reliable and I doubt many teams are going to waste their time with an unproven kid who is about to miss his entire senior season.

You can thank his HC for his stats tonight - pretty sure it wouldn't have mattered who was running the ball in Oregon's backfield - nice reasoning though. And since when were the players from Miami in that brawl proven NFL players? For instance - Merriweather or however his name is spelled? Dude was also stepping on peoples faces - Blount threw a punch.
