Ducks will end up stomping the Bruins. Something we have not done in a while

You know the game sucks when even Gus Johnson doesn't sound excited.

I never would have thought the first Pac-12 championship game would be such a dud. Was it always supposed to be on Friday night? Or was it moved to Friday night when it became apparent it was going to be a crappy matchup?

Possible attendance issues. Most of the Pac-12 championships are in Los Angeles, but the conference is incredibly spread out. The most central location would be the bay area, which is as long a potential trip from Pullman or Tucson as Gainesville to Fayetteville. Even longer from Boulder. So to guarantee max gates without having to pay for seat fillers like the Big Ten, they decided to award the Pac-12 title game to the highest seeded team in any given situation.

I'm hoping the two cheerleading squads decide to settle the game with a mud wrestling match. I can't be the only one.

Yes. The SEC might about to be six time defending national champs, but the Pac-10/12 is undefeated in cheerleaders for the last couple decades.

I'm thinking it probably will eventually. This almost feels like a "soft opening" type of thing.

I very seriously doubt it because of the travel issues I mentioned earlier. The Pac-12 encompasses about a third of the entire continental 48. It will probably continue to be a home game to the higher seeded team.
