Oregon has never run the two back set out of the shotgun.....

Unless they are going to run out of it all game, not a big deal. Either way, Justin Wilcox is good at what he does and will have a week to check out the game tape.

FWIW, my friend said the other day that he thinks New Mexico will be the worst FBS team in the country this year. He may be right.

They ran it exclusively while Darron Thomas was in the game. It is New Mexico and I am a homer but I have to say Darron was in control and leading that team. He looked impressive after he threw his pick, he obviously learned from it. He has the luxury of having a good team around him, including a defense to help out which will all help his confidence. We will find out soon enough.

No...but we aren't "Tennessee" right now either.

Still, the game has to be played. It's best not to look into any Game 1 performances too much, either good or bad.

Or at all.

Iowa needed two blocked field goals in the final seconds to beat Northern Iowa 17-16 in week 1 of last year. I believe they started out 9-0? 10-0? Finished with the 8th best defense in the country too.

Also, Michigan lost to Appalachian State and beat Florida in the same season.

It will be okay. One game at a time.

i dont care who they are playing. 59-0 at halftime is unbelievable.

Yeah but it means nothing. Again... Iowa started out 9 or 10-0 and were like top 5. Do you really believe Northern Iowa is better than all of the people they beat?

Iowa needed two field goal misses from like 35 yards in the final 30 seconds to beat them.

It's irrelevant.

I don't know about that. In 2005 we looked pretty not so great against UAB in our opener and we ended up 5-6 and lost to Vanderbilt. And it's not like UAB was any good that year either.

That's one game from one team.

I just gave you two examples of Iowa and Michigan. That's twice as many.

It could mean something... but to flat out say it does, not really.

Agreed. You have to be doing something right to put up that many points in a half. Oregon is a good team and it is going to be a tough game for UT.

Well lets just give Oregon the NC since that put up 72 points on New Mexico.

There is never a givin in Football, thats why we play the game.

The only givin is people are stupid and right now, Tennessee fans are eat up with it.
