Oregons jerseys for LSU

Black, white and grey/silver are neutral colors. In baseball, the road teams wear grey. In football, road teams wear white. The reason? Because those colors don't take away from the base team colors.

Sorry if too much black is offensive. Change happens.

No tradition, They are Nike models for whatever new crap they come up with. The sad part is that their university and team are fine with being a corporate whipping boy! They're being controlled by the establishment. With all these different uniforms they will never develop tradition, they will be just another flavor of the month.

Uniforms aren't what traditions are made of. Its what's done on and off the field. To me Al and Penn St are 2 tradition rich schools and have the most plain uniforms you can have. Change happens everywhere and with everything its part of life. I wouldn't want the combat Jerseys every game but once a year is cool.

No but they certainly are a part of the tradition. You can't tell me a big part of the tradition of Alabama and Penn St. isn't their uniforms. You know when you see them on TV exactly who they are without having to be told who they are.

I'm not against new uniforms, and I don't think every team has to stick with that thinking, but I do think a timeless look usually goes along with a strong tradition. And my problem isn't change, it's when the change is going to a black uniform and everyone acting like that some new bold move; it was bold about 15 years ago and now it's a lazy way to change because that's seemingly what EVERYONE does now when they want an alternate uniform. The Uni Watch blog refers to it as "Black for Black's sake".

looks pretty sweet. Too bad they don't have enough tradition to stick with a few jerseys that everyone recognizes, so they have to look like a bunch of run way models on the field

Traditional look, like AL and Penn St. you know who they are when you see them and don't have to figure it out. Changing uniforms once a year would be cool, only if there where some meaning behind it and not just the whim of a manufacturing company.

At this point, aren't all of these "non traditional" uniform styles kind of becoming an Oregon tradition?

Yes, but how would you like to be a college student who has to buy an new jersey to wear once or maybe twice a year. But I guess we already do that to get home and away jerseys with favorite players number. Then again it would be like girls calling their friends and asking what are you wearing today, so you don't wear the wrong jersey to the game.

I saw a lot of different Oregon jerseys when they came to Knoxville. Just buy your favorite or two favorite styles and leave it at that.

Im so over this uniform trend. Worst new thing in college football. Oregon is starting to make themselves look like a big giant joke.

Those look pretty cool but they dont have enough of their colors.

Oregon dosent care about colors or tradition. That's why I like them. Jersey designs don't win ball games. And it can be used as a recruiting tool believe it or not.

As much as I like seeing teams trying out new uniforms, I still think putting the school colors on it should be a no brainer. That would be like Tennessee doing a total black out uniform with a green power T. Sure you could tell it's Tennessee by the power T on the helmet, but it would look silly without orange.

The recruiting angle on this thing is blown a bit out of proportion. I know that all of the old folks on here think that these wacky teenagers are completely obsessed with these futuristic nonsensical uniforms, but I really don't see them being that big of a draw for most kids. There will be a certain portion that like them (same as on Volnation), but I don't think we should compromise who we are for the sake of opening a small channel for recruiting. In addition, I don't think we want kids to pick our school based on what ridiculous outfits (not uniforms) we are wearing from week to week. Seems like if a kid is serious about football, he would have his focus on something a bit more meaningful.

Everybody here just goes with the default green jersey. And you don't have to buy them every year, the diamond plate design was around for a few years, and the wings have been around for a few years now as well.

Xanex prescription need to be refilled?

These changes, at least with me, are very hit or miss. Most of UF's and Oregon's have been miss but I do like these. I like Boise's. UGA's I count as a miss.

What was Oregon before all the uniform and Nike money? Does anyone remember? I don't. Now look. Money, new tech and an approach that has never been seen before is to account for their success and their success has paved the way for better coaching and recruits.

For a program that is approaching the inescapable plateau of mediocrity (yours), it might be time to mix something up.

The uniforms suck. There is no way around it.

These are probably the nicest uniforms I have ever seen very simple but flashy at the same time.

I think you are completely wrong about this. A buddy of mine's son is visiting Oregon for a recruiting visit because in his words "they always catch my eye." The uniforms alone will get Oregon mentioned on websites all over the country just like this one. Websites that recruits read! Oregon is a semi new program and obviously has put itself in the national spotlight. Phil Knight pumps tons of money into that place and they're not going anywhere. They play a fast paced fun style of football, they're very creative with their uniforms and they have taken over the Pac 12 from USC. If I were a kid, I would visit there just to see what the buzz is all about.

All that being said, other than schools like Bama, Penn St etc..tradition is overrated

Some kids do value tradition. Not many, though. At least if athletes in y'alls neck of the woods are anything like the ones I grew up with out here who had a legit shot at D-I athletics.

I know a lot of the older fans hate all the Nike uni combos Oregon has. I'm indifferent to them, though I much prefer the simple old school look of a Bama or a TN or a USC or a Penn St. But the vast majority of 18 year olds do prefer the type of thing Oregon does. That's just a fact everyone will have to live with, although it's only good for getting attention, not closing the deal. For most of them, four things will: Success, campus, facilities, girls.
