The biggest difference between Pearls and Tressels case? The sv is STILL lying. Two reasons why he claims he withheld information about his star players violating the rules. 1. Because of the request of confidentiality in the e-mails. 2. To protect his players from the criminals they were associating with.
The problem with no.1 is that if you read the first e-mail informing Tressel of the violations, there was no confidentiality request. That didnt come until 2 weeks later in the 2nd e-mail. The rule states that he is to pass on the info as soon as its recieved.
The problem with no.2 is that in December, well past the time when his players could face danger tressel was asked if he knew of the violations previously and he straight up lied verbally and in a signed statement.
These facts are the reason ESPN has yet to show or even talk about the e-mails. Bottom line is Pearl covered up a minor violation and has since come clean. Tressel covered up a major violation and is continuing to flat out lie to his university, the NCAA, and to the world. What he has done and continues to do is 10 times worse and if you dont think so, you are delusional.
