OU and Texas to B1G rumors

They need to go to either the B1G West or the PAC. The PAC is simply awful.

If the B1G goes to 16, does the SEC make a move? Does Notre Dame join the ACC in football? It's always interesting to think about how the dominoes could fall.

Yeah i love the chaos of movement plus the thought of getting to see new matchups we never get to see.

If that were to happen then, IMO, OK State and West Virginia are the 15th and 16th teams in the SEC.

Is it entirely possible if they do realignments in the near future that the Big 12 and Pac 12 end up folding and their members moved to other conferences? I would love to see OU and Texas in the SEC. one in the West and the other in the East. Would be awesome!!

IF (and that's a big If, because it won't) this were to happen I'd be cool with adding Kansas and West Virginia. West Virginia fits culture wise IMO and it would be nice to have another basketball power house. Added bonus is bringing back an old rivalry game is KU/Missouri. I know this wouldn't happen (TV markets, etc) it's just who I'd like to add.

I imagine the money would have to be amazing for them to make the move. Only way it could happen.

Neither OU nor Texas are hurting for money. I'm not sure about Texas, but I know for a fact all OU Athletics is self funded and receives no contributions from the State.

Regardless, OU is the primary reason they didn't expand a couple of years ago when they had the chance. They're "committed" to the Big 12, at least they were under Dave Boren. Things could change though.

Things will definitely change when their rights come up. ESPN and Fox would rather lump OU and Texas into another one of their existing conference deals. The other 8 schools simply don't matter.

I'm sure ESPN would love to give up the LHN. It's not exactly making money for them.

I think the next big conference shake out is the Big 12 and the Pac 12 merging into 16-20 teams forming a super conference.

Texas would have to give up their all Texas all the time network which is why the PAC nor SEC would take them in the last few times. I can't see the B1G taking them since they have their own conference network as well. Texas thought their own network would put them head and shoulders over everybody, but they've been pretty much irrelevant in football since they brought it online.

Apparently the Longhorn Network reaches well beyond Austin. Last week they picked up the rights to Iowa State v Drake and most of the country was blocked from seeing that game.

The reason Nebraska bolted the Big 12 to begin with was uneven revenue sharing. Texas being allowed to have Longhorn Network yet share in Big 12.... Nebraska had enough. So i dont think this move would happen but Id love to see it.
